I quit smoking this past Saturday. I feel no need for a cigarette. I’m starting to feel more energized and find myself feeling better in the mornings. (Not Coughing, not stuffed up).

The only side-effect I’m feeling at this point is: I CAN’T SLEEP. If I’m lucky I get 4 hours of sleep when going to bed at 10:00 and waking up at 6:00.

I wake up several times an hour. Many times hot and sweating.
What can I do to help this?

Please Help!!!

It's your body craving for nicotine that is waking you up. Over time your sleep will improve. Don't take any drugs to make you sleep as you will become dependent on them which is worse than the cigarettes.

Okay that sucks. But good for you on quitting smoking. See your doctor. Maybe he can prescribe a temporary sleep aid until your body straightens itself out. Or maybe there is something else going on unrelated to your quitting smoking and by coincidence you just happen to be experiencing it now.

Withdrawal systems stink? They will pass in time. Until then, take a mild sedative (1/2 dosage) every other nite until you get through this. Congratuations on your new life!
