Because if it is, it's one that every human being (and not too few animals) indulge in.
Remember, there are only two kinds of people; those that masturbate, and those that lie about not masturbating.

Oh and before I forget, can any of you theists give me an Empirical definition of the word "sin" please? Thanks.

So, lion of judah, you're basically lying about not masturbating?
Typical.

When the gullible are made to feel shame and guilt over a natural act, then they can be drawn to expiate their bad feelings by following religion.

It's a fact that if a man doesn't use it, he loses it. It can whither away do to non-use, like any other muscle/organ.

You want an "empirical" definition of the word "sin?" You mean "empirical" as in "provable by experience or experiment?"

How can the word "sin" be defined like that? To sin means to transgress against a divine law. Whatever that divine law is is defined by the particular religion you are looking at. Sometimes there are differences of opinion as to what constitutes "sin" - some people think getting married after getting divorced is a sin, others don't, for example.

definite, they're delusional yet they arent volatile Thats the factor, you're able to have faith despite you %, only shop it to your self and don't condemn others for non-thought Buddhism and fascism are incompatible, that's why atheists won't in any respect attack buddhism: it doesnt negatively result each and every guy or woman, any lifestyle or any scientific progression like abrahamic religions do, and actual encourages rational theory and multitheism. It provides a call whether or to not settle for their doctrine, and in case you do not: there's no hell, no not elementary thoughts and no bullshit or hate you will discover atheists have admire for buddhism and greater than a number of different different asian religions, one evidence is their financial place for the full time has been leagues previous to islamic international locations or christain united states of america, we are able to thoroughly say particular passive ideals in no way injury something buddhism isn't in step with pulling coronary heart strings or concern, and is nicely matched with present day society

Define sin: anything somebody else does for pleasure.

It seems that some theists are of the opinion that masturbation is only done by men. Slightly naive I'd say.

I take it that mutual masterbation is also a sin?

We don't!!!

A sin is violating the covenant one has with a deity. A covenant must be entered into willingly, so you can't sin without one. (this is an empirical definition, based on etymology and historic usage)

I think you mean CHRISTIANS, not theists...or maybe Abrahamic theists, or even monotheists.

It seems truly sad that some of the devout relinquish their ability to enjoy their God-given faculties.

You can quote doctrine and moldy scholarly texts all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that you're depriving yourselves of something which is natural.

So what if with males you're dooming billions of sperm to their doom? The same occurs in natural conception, the lucky one sperm penetrates the egg while the rest expire. While the end result of one is a baby, the other results in pleasure without the pain of childbirth and child rearing, as well.

as a Christian I feel there is nothing wrong with it. I would ask one question to all these so called religious experts...have you never been in a situation where you were overcome by your desires to have sex with someone, but wanted to wait until marriage and masturbated to release that tension? for goodness sakes, we're not machines.

ok many can see masturbating as a sin cos many religions don't beleive on sex before marriage and masturbating will in way is thought to arouse you more and give you more of an urge for the real thing (sex) which can lead to sex before marriage which is a sin. it's jus trying to keep ppl pure and focusing their mind on the right path

I don't know if there is any scripture but I think there might be, but in my words. I say it is because when doing so you normally tend to think about someone don't you? You lust over someone? She/He might be married or something like that. Well God did say not to lust after one another. So therefore you can consider it a sin, but than again if you don't believe in God than yea. But that is your Christian answer, without scripture.
