JesusSaves: better get a Bible Commentary and/or a good study Bible before you use that verse to prove anything.

Moises_Frias: How the heck did you get 2 thumbs down? If there were any proof needed that most "religious" folks who post on this forum never really study thier Bibles that should be conclusive!

This is an interesting question, because I see in Scripture where both the viewpoints of the Trinity and Oneness doctrines are derived. While the term Trinity is not found in Scripture, it clarifies the doctrine of three aspects of one God. In my opinion, the doctrine of the Trinity is made clear to my satisfaction in the following:
Old Testament passages: Genesis 1:26: "And God said, Let us ake man in our image, after our likeness ...." The name Elohim, to which these plural pronouns refer, is also plural, and is used some 2,700 places in the Old Testament, the first of which is Genesis 1:1.
New Testament passages: Matthew 28:19: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Mark 1:10, 11: "And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him; And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Luke 3:22: "And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." John 1:32, 34: "And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him....And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God."
As I understand it, the Trinity are three, and yet one. This is not mysterious. Each individual human being is also a three-part being: spirit, soul, and body; therefore, I have no difficulty believing in one God who has three different aspects.
Theologians have spent entire careers, and cumulatively, centuries, arguing these doctrines. Since they haven't resolved the issue to everyone's satisfaction, I can't imagine that discussion on Y!A will resolve it. I think that, as Christians, there are some points that we will not *all* understand until we join Christ in heaven. That being the case, I refuse to quarrel or to take offense at my brothers' and sisters' opinions. Instead, I make every effort to live by the teachings of Jesus and of the Epistles on matters that *are* abundantly clear. I choose to love all who name the name of Christ with agape (I Corinthians 13), regardless of their interpretations of passages that may be understood in more than one way.

Well its time to hear the famous words again, to answer your question; "Stop, trying to read the bible, let the bible read to you!" You have a condition called human nature like every human created, and this nature tries to guide itself in all life, the only problem, human nature is blind! Now to answer the question; There is no object called the third being in the trinity, only God, The Word, (which later became God in the flesh.)and the power of God called the Holy spirit. You have a power also and its called decision making or the power of choice. Look out now intuition is like ESP, and we humans are susceptible to this also, in other words a silent operation of the human mind. Let it read to you!

No. Some people believe in the trinity to make the entire idea of Christianity seem more plausible, but in truth, it's really not. The trinity is false, and has no Biblical proof to back it up, simply conjecture.

Well in Genesis- Let US make man in our image. Also the Spirit moved upon the face of the waters.
In Daniel- The forth man in the flames was like the Son of God
In 1 John 5:7- There are three that bear record in heaven.
If you have seen me you have seen the Father. I and my Father are one.

This is just a few, but there is more.

Bible never referred the doctrine of Trinity, Original Sin or even word Christian anywhere upto last gospel of New Testament. As far Saint Pauls letters etc are concerned, these are extra addendums not a part of bible.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness: Isaiah 43:11 I even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 14:16 And i will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that HE may abide with you for ever; John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whome the Father will send in my name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

You asked a yes-no question, "Can you prove conclusively from your Bible the doctrine of the Trintiy?"

Well, DUH!!! Of COURSE I can. Otherwise I wouldn't believe in the tri-une nature of God.

Now, you didn't ask anyone to show you the Scriptures that prove that God is tri-une, and even if I did show you all of them (which would take up WAY too much space for this forum), you wouldn't believe it anyway, because you're mind is already made up!

When you come with a question that you are already pre-biased about with no intention of learning from the answers, then that's when I have to say that you're a hypocrite! You shouldn't ask questions you really don't answers to!

Well, let's see now.... The trinity was written about in the bible, and the bible is the word of god because the bible SAYS it's the word of god, and if god said something about the trinity then i guess it has to be true because the bible said it and the bible is god's truth coming out of his mouth and if he said it then it must be true especially since it's written in the bible which is the word of god, right? right? that's right isn't it? Or is this what they call "circular reasoning"?
