I too have been told that they are demons. I've heard that my whole life. My parents are Jehovah's Witnesses and I personally have seen things since I was around 5. My mother told me I brought the devil into the house and would make me sit and pray forever! After much research and study, I know it is not demonic what I see, but rather something that there just simply isn't enough information on yet. There are many things in this world that have no concrete explanation. Many fear what they do not understand, so it is easier to label it demonic.

I may be wrong but I don't think the word ghost is mentioned in the bible. Hi girl where have you been. You have been missed. David I have just read both of the passages that Eartha mentioned and there is no mention of ghosts in either one. In Luke or Hebrews. King James Version.

This is not discussed at all in the Bible and the biggest scripture says to put on your whole armour because we do not know. you can find that in Ephesians. But we do wrestle with spiritual beings. So ghosts No but spirit yes. Not all are demons they were all created by God so it is His domain He knows what He created and one day we will know too.

The Bible says that dead people go immediately to heaven if they were believers, or to hell if they were unbelievers. There's no way God would let someone "float around" on their own.
There are not "ghosts" as in "my dead uncle Fred is haunting me". It is demons.

Unfortunately many believe these old medieval superstitions. There is a world that is unseen but it is so much more than the devil's playground.
I cannot explain ghosts. We do not know, in christianity, what happens to our spirits after death. He have an idea what the ultimate outcome is, but not in the meantime.
So at least there is one that doesn't believe that everything is attributed to the devil.

This belief is held by those Christians who believe that when a person dies, they're dead in the grave until the resurrection. Scriptures cited are those against dealing with fortune tellers (see link below) and scriptures such as in the Psalms where it states that "No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave?" - PSA 6:5 NIV

Most fundamentalist believe this. I don't know why. I have gone to churches that also believe this, I have had it explained and I still don't know why. It is a common belief that ghosts and UFOs are demonic.
