My mom always told us that santa clause was just away for satan to still glory from God because kids would praise him more than God himself. she says most kids find out about santa before God and that is wrong for their parent to do that. she says she buys us gifts only because she wants to and she can because God has blessed us so that she can not because some man in a suit allowed it. but now im 24 and with kids of my own and feel the same way and it makes me angry that schools talk about it. so do you thinks santa is right or wrong

i have mixed feelings about santa clause. when i was very little my mom told me about santa and easter bunny, tooth fairy, and she taught us about god. by the time i was 6 i knew that it was all made up to bring excitement to us kids during the holidays, but i always knew about god, he was always first. i always thought that when i had kids, i wouldn't tell them about santa or easter bunny, but of course it's every where, and other kids believe in it. my kids know that it's supposed to be all about god, and we go to church all year long, and church at christmas is a big deal for us, and our church holds a birthday party for jesus and all the kids are invited. i never really insisted to them that santa brings the presents, they just assumed that he did for awhile, but now they are 6, 9, and 12 and they know that it's just pretend and it was all for fun, i never went out of my way to make them believe in this fairy tale. but when they were very small i didn't have it in me to take that excitement away from them either. but i think that as long as you don't make to much of a big deal about santa, as not to glorify him, and you are sure to teach your kids the real reason for the season, then it shouldn't be to bad, and they will figure it out on their own real early on anyway, if your not going out of your way to make them believe in him. i wrap all my kids gifts early and they see them sitting out in the living room, so they know that santa didn't bring them on christmas eve. ans i have always done that, i wanted them to catch on for themselves quickly.

Santa was the spirit of giving. We were never told that Santa was a real person, but just a person representing the spirit of love and giving that is in each one of us.

We did not have a lot of money growing up and under our tree was always pretty sparse. But, there would always be one present that had no givers name on it, and it would be one of the things we really wanted. As kids we decided it was Santa, even though we knew he wasn't real. But it was fun to believe. And our parents never confirmed or denied.

When my girls (now 12 and 10) ask me if Santa is real, I just throw the question back at them. They do know he doesn't exist as a person, but they enjoy the fun in it. They do get a special present from Santa, but now we are getting special presents addressed to Mrs. Santa and Mr. Santa, from the elves!

We stress the true meaning of Christmas, and Christ is at the center of all we do during the seasons of Advent and Christmas. Even to the point of singing Happy Birthday before anyone is allowed to open presents.

It is a struggle for parents, but just do what you feel is right for your children!

i'm Pagan married to a Deist and our families are Christian. In my homestead we have fun yuletide... I do greater of the religious stuff than my hub or my 19 year previous son does. however the foodstuff and memories, etc... are all performed at the same time. On Christmas Eve (yuletide is 12 days long), we flow to my mothers and dads homestead the place we have fun Christmas. however they are Christians, they are not overly religious/fundies... and often stick a rather secular "occasion" with the conventional Christmas memories, the foodstuff, the CHOCOLATE!!! oops, sorry... I surely have never pushed my ideals on everyone. Even whilst gazing/celebrating Pagan trip trips, I merely flow so a methods by way of fact something of the kinfolk is keen to flow and something I do on my own (ritual, etc...) however, that somewhat isn't a great number of a concern in my homestead, for the reason that my son is likewise Pagan and my husband enjoys getting to understand approximately those issues... he merely would not participate. =) it could be confusing to describe that to a 5 year previous. i did not would desire to do any deep motives until my youngster become merely approximately 11. So i can't supply any suggestion on that as i'm uncertain the thank you to describe it to a 5 year previous. No, you are able to't request excused absence for Wiccan Holildays. there is somewhat merely one "Christian" trip infants get off and that falls interior of their wintry climate destroy. that's only one thing you will would desire to artwork around or maybe evaluate homeschool.

If you look at my pic you'll see why i am answering this. I am a committed Christian, and i am happy to be Santa at my local shopping mall. We brought our kids up not to believe in Santa, in case they threw out Jesus when the discovered that Santa isn't real, but it brings so much pleasure to the kids when they come in to see me. I always make a point of stressing to the kids how helpful they have to be at home at this time of year (which pleases the parents!) and I use the opportunity to bless them as they leave. It knda helps that I look like him as well. I find that kids who know me and recognise me, seem to suspend disbelief. Hope this helps. God bless you.

I was raised with santa.....the easter bunny.....and the tooth fairy (not a holiday but.....you know what I mean).

All of these things were innocent then.......and now I am a strong born again Christian walking with the Lord

There's nothing wrong with telling a child about santa.......white lies are ok. Nobody gets harmed.

If you're saved, what does it matter?

I thank God for my mother! She taught me to love the traditions and festivities of every season. To delight in family and friends and to have FUN. St.Nicholas has lost favour with the world, but I still love him.

I feel sorry for you when your parents did everything they could to zap the fun out of your childhood and squelch your imagination. I see that you've managed to maintain your imaginary friend through it all though.
