You can't really even go to a church anymore, since there are so many hypocrites and false-types entering churches and not really being true at heart.

This country is obviously obsessed with power, money, well hell that's the world. You have to worry about every little thing, security, money, health even, education, the list goes on endlessly.

God/Spirituality is seen as leisure time, something u do in your free time to relax, it's not taken seriously at all.

Many don't even believe in it because they think it's utter B*llshit, and go back to their own, conniving, manipulating, scheming lives, working and devising ways to get ahead and make money.

At the end of the day isn't this sad? You become another player, who's bound to get caught up in life, and ultimately don't really care about other humans, to a degree that a person of god would. God is/was supposed to be a symbol of GOOD. Nowadays, the idea annoys people, and on here they give you the thumbs down. why?

I've met so many people who were either obssessed with knowledge, or power ,or houses, cars, clothes, things like that, and ultimately don't give a F*CK about you or other people.

I hear arguments from atheists or other religions that, just because you're NOT religious does NOT make you a bad person.

That's correct, but a person who is TRULY good at heart, wouldn't be a bad person either.

Many jesus freaks and God types seem to be irrational, stupid, backwards, hateful and cult like, unfortunately, and those should obviously be avoided, and it sucks that THESE types ruin the idea of "god" for many people.

For the intellects, who think "god" is for the stupid, look at humanity around us. We livy are in the "Future" and our morality is as weak as ever.

Intellectual pursuits clearly aren't working.

Ive been looking within. Yeah theres alot wrong with this world. Some say especially the good ole' U.S.A, but just being on this journey and having questions leads me to believe that it is possible to find and have this "hole" filled. I'ma strong believer that when you notice something is missing, love, compassion, forgiveness... to bring it. Let's try not to worry so much why someone else is acting a certain way. Lets be grateful we at least see the need & try to better people. I hear that peace and serenity is contagious.

Maybe God isn't the answer (something anthropomorphized outside ourselves)...maybe one's approach (to "finding spirituality") is more effective on an individual basis, rather than within the confines of an organized religion that claims to have all the answers to compassion, morality, ethics, service, etc., all of which are sheltered within an individual's own heart or core. The church (religion) has become a mega-ego that struts and judges, solicits and shuns, much like the small ego of an individual who is in ignorance, having been molded by society. To merge with our highest "good," to become our best selves (which is what most of us are striving to do when we "seek spirituality"), meditation offers a sincere and valuable way, for it quiets the ego-mind, thus bringing one to stillness and observation of the "self" that is discomfited by the constantly changing chatter of the duality world, the world of inconstancy, impermanency, and polarity. When one is able to "deconstruct" the arrogance of ego through meditation, one will begin to experience the individual and collective source of All That Is, which is our Source. Our oneness in the One (or the Absolute, unchanging field) will be revealed. The "practice" of meditation will lead an individual to liberation from the tyrranies of separation from one another and our Source. This practice can be done at home in the amazing silence of one's own heart. I am Sirius

God is my personnal choice and I do have a relationship with him . Your Idea of money is so far from God .... When you loose everything then and only then will you understand the ways of God . You may be halfway there but You will never let yourself loose everything ... Is just our ways ....So keep God in your heart and try to be good . Pray and try to live a GOOD life ...even though our hearts make mistakes ....and Jesus will walk with us the whole way ... We will never be the purest of light that he wants us to be even though we may try...His plan for us may not be what you think or want..but rest assured he will get his way so let him guide you . The simple things in life is where he will always be....

Church is hospital for sinners. Our sinful nature, hatred, is the problem.

God longs to have a relationship with you, very personal relationship. Start with prayer and studying of God's Word. God is good. And He loves you.

How we treat one another is more important than religion. For is it not a fact that is the lesson religion is trying to teach us. So if we are good, care about our neighbors, family, and friends than we are doing as the religions teach. That is what is important.
