Read Matthew the 2nd chapter. The star appeared & moved. The "Wise men" followed it. First it led them to an evil king named Herod. He questioned them to know why they were there. The star waited! Herod slyly told them to go on & find the child (Jesus), that he also wanted to worship him, to know his whereabouts. The star again moved & led them to the home (not a stable like the xmas nativity scenes depict) where Jesus as a young child was living. They gave their gifts & slept. During sleep God's angel warns them to not return to the king, he wants to kill Jesus. They go home a different route. Jehovah's angel also tells Joseph to take his family & escape to Egypt, he does. Herod knows his plot has been disrupted, in a rage sends his soldiers out to kill all baby boys in the district under the age of 2 (fulfilled prophecy). Jehovah had to intervene to save his son. So, who put that star in the sky? Satan is referred to as an angel of light at 2 Cor 11:14.

Be careful of Satan's lies.

Andrew,
I agree that Jehovah created the vast body of stars in the night sky. I am referring to this one star, it had a purpose, an evil purpose. Why do you suppose the "wise men" didn't refer to it again. You would think they would rave about it. It moved and guided them... The other stars seemed constant to them. This one zipped around.

I'm glad my question reached your heart. Please do, dig for accurate knowledge. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
The "Christmas Star" gives me the creeps. Christmas is so full of pagan traditions (Santa Clause, flying reindeer, Elves, the tree, lights, not to mention drunkeness and gluttoney but the star is pure evil. God instructs us at John 4:24 to worship with spirit and truth. This is just one more way for Satan to confuse people and keep them from knowing Jehovah God.
Some say "it's just fun". I'm sure the pagan worshippers also enjoy dancing around their idols and having prostitutes in their temples (Hosea 4:14)
but once again that is not pure worship to God.

Satan is a deceiver and can create situations or illusions to fill his need. Consider the snake in the Garden of Eden. Also, look at all the things he did to Job including terrible illness (Job 2:7) and disasterous weather that killed his family (Job 1:16-19).
This star was temporary and only the astrologers recorded seeing it. Possibly another illusion.

As to the "star" (which by the way, was curiously ONLY seen by the astrologers), many suggestions have been given as to its having been a comet, a meteor, a supernova, or, more popularly, a conjunction of planets. But none of such bodies could logically have ‘COME TO A STOP above where the young child was,’ thereby identifying the one house in the village of Bethlehem where the child was found.

The astrologer's spiritually condemned practice of astrology and the adverse results of their visit, placing in danger the life of the future Messiah, certainly allow for, and even make advisable, the consideration of their having been directed by a source ADVERSE to God’s purposes as relating to the promised Messiah.

It is certainly reasonable to ask if the one who "keeps transforming himself into an angel of light," whose operation is "with every powerful work and lying signs and portents," who was able to make a serpent appear to speak, and who was referred to by Jesus as "a manslayer when he began," could not also cause astrologers to ‘see’ a starlike object that guided them first, not to Bethlehem, but to Jerusalem, where resided a mortal enemy of the promised Messiah.—2Co 11:3, 14; 2Th 2:9; Ge 3:1-4; Joh 8:44.

To Robin W.

If God had killed King Herod or warned the parents or saved all those other boy children, he would not have come to earth to live among his children to save them with Grace & the world would be perfect, so no need for him. There would have been no need for Moses or the Ark, no need for a bible. We, as Christian, have free will & are not slaves to his desires. This way we seek a relationship with him, in prayer. In having that relationship, we seek him in all things, both big & small. We put him first, remember, God is a jealous God & put nothing before him. In other words, don't put your job, your house, your friends, you family, your $$$$, nothing goes before God.

Are you saying Satan created the star? Wouldn't that make him a Creator and open the question of what other things Satan has created? How could he have put the star in the sky unless he made it?

devil is the guy who positioned the famous guy or woman there, he used it in an attempt to break Jesus. The so called sensible adult adult males have been astrologers from the East, Maggie, from the land of Persia i've got self assurance. those style of people God says to keep away from so why would God carry them to his Son, and in case you examine interior the account of Jesus' delivery, God despatched angels to shepherds interior the fields attending their flocks to tell His human beings of the delivery of their savior. additionally while the Maggie got here across Jesus, he become not interior the manger from now on yet in a house and become a youthful infant not somewhat one, approximately 2 years previous, that's why Herod had all youthful adult males from the age 2 and under killed, by way of fact he got here up with this age in accordance to what the astrologers,Maggie, instructed king Herod regarding the famous guy or woman they stated seeing interior the sky.

So God could warn the Magi with a dream, and he could warn Joseph with a dream, why didn't he warn the parents of those children? Why didn't he just kill Herod before he could issue the order? Or make him change his mind? For that matter, why not save the Hebrew babies that the Pharoah slaughtered?

Nothing about your religion makes any sense to me.

How the Stars Got Into the Sky

Have you heard the tales of the Native American trickster, Coyote? Sometimes Coyote is a helper and sometimes he is not, but he is always interesting. This is a tale of Coyote and how the stars got into the sky.

A long time ago, when the world was young, there were no stars in the sky. The sky above was like a thick, blue blanket -- the only light was the moon. A mystical man who could make things from fire thought it would be a very good idea to place shining balls of fire into the sky to make pictures. The pictures in the sky would help people tell each other stories.

The man who could make things from fire spread a great big blanket out upon the ground. He wiggled his fingers and stars rained down onto the blanket on the ground.

The man who could make things from fire stood over his stars on the ground and thought for a very long time about the pictures he would make in the sky. He picked out a star, thought about the perfect place to put it, and then placed it into the sky. He picked out another star, thought about the perfect place to put it, and then placed it into the sky. Over and over, he picked out a single star and placed it.

Coyote saw the man who could make things from fire at work, and wondered what was going on. Coyote asked if he could help, and the man who could make things from fire said yes.

The man who could make things from fire showed Coyote how to pick out a star, think about the perfect place to put it, and then place it into the sky.

It didn't take very much time for Coyote to get very bored with putting stars into the sky one by one. Think about how many stars there are in the sky -- how long would it take to put them each up one-by-one?
Coyote gathered up the four corners of the blanket that held the stars. With a mighty SNAP he flung the blanket and stars high up into the sky. Where the stars touched the sky, the stars stuck.

This is why some of the stars in the sky make pictures and some do not. The ones that make pictures are the stars that were very carefully put in place by the man who could make things from fire. The ones that do not are the stars that Coyote flung into the sky because he was impatient.
