For those who may not be aware, NAIS or National Animal ID System is the brainchild of USDA and NIAA (Big Ag & data technology companies). It is a system designed to help international trade at the expense of small livestock owners. There has never been a cost-benefit analysis done, and now Sen. Harkins is trying to slip it into the 2007 Farm Bill. Everyone needs to contact their senators and tell them they oppose this. Visit

for more info on why this plan is bad for most farmers.

hwinnum, Actually I was aware of this, but I have a suggestion for you. Add some information about what NAIS is and the reasons that you think people should ask their senators to vote against including it in the Farm Bill. Most people are not aware of what this would mean to the farmers.

I am aware of this. For more information about the national animal ID system and why we must defeat this go to http://nonais.org.

This will be an onerous cost for the small and medium farms
