We are having problems with cats and we got a cat trap and I was told that if you let a cat go once that the cat will never go into the trap again.

I had to release one cat three times in one night (he REALLY wanted the chicken!) and another one twice in three days when I was doing TNR. Yes, some just figure the food is more important. Some never go into a trap, so you can get both types showing up.

If the cat is starving and you have baited with food, he will go in again. If it is a very smart cat that is a good hunter, most likely he will not. Good luck

If the cat is hungry enough, you can. I've done it. Try a really orderfilled food, like sardines or kippers. Please take care of the cats once you catch them. Either spay or neuter them, and release them back, keep them, adopt them out to friends, or take them to a no kill shelter.

I think they'll forget after a while and you can reuse the same trap again.... esp if you put a nice treat in it
