Sorry, but I meant, when Christians kill animals or birds for food, do they have to mention god's or jesus' name or say any thing like that?

I'm asking because I'm not allowed to eat food that was killed without the mention of god's name, or when other thatn god is mintioned, although i'm allowed to eat animals killed by christians, muslims, or jews.

There is not a ritual per say, but there are methods and practices that are followed by any butcher. There are guidelines to follow. I know that a lack of ritual in the butchering fo animals is standard practice. In fact ritual sacrifice seems to be what you're alluding to. Ritual sacrifice has never been recognized as a Christian activity, and to say that it is, just proves how messed up we seem to some very sick people. Also the original Christians, who were all Jewish, actually may have continued ritual sacrifice at the Temple in Jerusalem. Until the temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. If anyone has evidence for or against this last statement, show it, don't just say what you beleive. Prove your belief, in the mouths of two or more witnesses...you know the verse.

As a Christian I have quite an extensive preperation ritual. First I take what ever cut of meat from the animal I am dealing with and beat the heck out of it with a hammer. Then I take spices and some garlic and rub it into the meat. At this point I put it on the grill and cook it. After the meat (usually cow, sorry hindu's) is nice and juicy pink on the inside I pull it off the fire. It's pleasing aroma rises to heaven, or at least to the neighbors house, who looks over the fence and comments on the amazing odor hovering through is yard. Complimented with a nice baked potato or steamed veggies I sit in awe of the sacrifice and thank God for the bounty of His goodness in my life... I am feeling hungry.

my first thought was
"come to my house & you can see for your self while being butchered"
but I am not a butcher so it was only a thought. the N/A have one it is to apologize to the animal for killing it & then thank it for giving it's life so the Indians family can survive! Christians as a whole I do not think have such things. I don't.

I've never butchered an animal - but Michael Vick has. And notice how he didn't become a Christian until after he was caught!

YH,
Christians are not required to give sacrifices of animals. You are living in the wrong era. The Old Testament required blood sacrifices. We live in a new era. CHRIST was murdered so that we would have freedom from that era. Have a great week.
Thanks,

No, there are no proscribed rituals for butchering animals for Christians. Why do you ask?

I am a custom butcher. I cut meat for people in the country areas that don't want to do it themselves, or are getting to old to do it. I do say a prayer like "God please use this food to be nourishing to this persons body, and thank you for the food." I am a Christian. No ritual just, a prayer of thanks.

No. Maybe if they want to they might say a prayer but that doesn't count as a ritual.

To answer your question, yes, there is a ritual. It's very simple. It consists of honor, reverence, respect and thanks.
