Oh here we go again.

Another unbeliever telling us how God should think, act and behave.

Absolutely fascinating.

For the last time, God does not send people to hell. People choose hell - a voluntary separation from their creator - through their own willful pride.

You're right, it does seem more than a little arbitrary, and not what you would think possible from a G-d who practised 'agape' love. After all, the Free Will Defence doesn't even enter into the debate here, as the Christian Scriptures clearly state that only those who believe in and follow the teachings of the Christ can enter Heaven. This seems more than a little harsh, especially for those who have never come across any Gospel teachings. It does fit in well though with what we know about religion (as opposed to faith). Religion seeks to have people/followers/adherents serve it, rather that it serving those who have faith. Religion is a man-made device intended to prey on those with a spiritual self, setting out rules and guidelines which are almost impossible to follow, setting the bar at times so high that we can never hope to get over it without the pain of guilt and rejection.

In other words, Hell only exists because the priests decided they needed to have something to control their followers with, cobbling together their perception of eternal damnation from many mythologies, purely as a means of social and spiritual control.

You are confusing the dogma of medieval Catholicism with correct interpretation of scriptures. There is a direct correlation between denominations which try to exert control and the Word which promotes free will. Understanding the scriptures by 'rightly dividing the Word' will free you from this misunderstanding of the eternity.

I find the answers to this amusing.
'If someone who doesn't believe in god goes to heaven they'll clash'.
Not only could an omnipotent, etc, god easily change someone to believe in him and be good without any trouble, but just because they can't go to heaven, why torture them forever?
And seriously, sentencing people to eternal torture isn't immoral? Come on, if a 'god' existed and thought that, then I wouldn't find them worthy of worship. Not to mention that if god were perfect, why shouldn't we legalize torture?
Yay! Let's torture everyone who doubts Bush!

It's about choice. You have less than a hundred years to choose who you will serve. If you serve God heaven is in your future, if you serve yourself then the absence of God is in your future. Whether that is accompanied by fire and brimstone is up for debate, but surely being separated from God for all eternity is pretty sucky. That's why the bible says to choose this day whom you will serve. It is truly an important decision. Maybe you're not ready to make that choice, but to at least be open minded might be a good place to start. God is in fact love, that's why you have the opportunity to at least make that choice in the first place.

How do you define eternity?

There is no concept of time there. Time is a phenomenon for us, not for the people in paradise of hell.

Also, from Islamic perspective at least, some people will go to paradise, some people will go to hell for short time, some will go to hell for longer time and some for eternity.

Its not black'n'white like: "you burn in hell forever, and hey you live in paradise forever".

Once a person goes to hell, he might return from that, but once a person goes to paradise, then he wont be expelled from paradise. That is the favor and mercy of God according to Islam.

Do you uderstand where GOd is, there is no wickedness or sin allowed. When people refuse to change their ways and love wicked ways, then heaven just isnt for them.

Its like a puzzle, you have to change your ways, change your thinking, to fit. If you dont want to, and you love wicked ways, then Heaven isnt for you.

God is Love, Kind, Peace, Giving

Significant Other, Hate, Strife and Confusion, Selfish

If GOd allowed the significant other into heave, they will clash, they dont fit, the significant other would be uncomfortable.

every person living knows of Gods existence. The prideful ones say they deny but in their heart they know they are lying.

Romans Chap one proves that all know God but some turn from him.

So you reject Jesus you CHOOSE the alternate which is hell.

Remember, man created his gods and wrote the stories about him. It shows that humans can be evil in brainwashing their fellow men into believing that trash.
