The bible never said you can't fall in love with one of your own sex - you just can't f*ck em or marry em. Go figure. Not that it matters, most of my gay mates are sluts! But speaking religiously (or through religious motivation), this question can't be answered since religion looks on both these as separate root causes. They are similar only in that both go against religion's aim to control. No pun intended by the word root. Homosexuality offends their sense of comfort, since sex should only be performed as a duty in marriage, like in the novel 1984. Homosexuality (or homoeroticism) was quite rife in the days of the writing of the bible; since it was quite normal for a horny Roman bloke to "appreciate" the youthful femininity of the adolescent male. This lustfulness was against the self control christianity preached. Divorce on the other hand was separate, since again, divorces were common in that time period and it provided a way for people to abide by their religious rules but do what they want in terms of partners. It also paved the way for non religious partners to enter in to the equation, with the chance of turning one against religion. The lack of self determination is the aim here for religion enacting these rules - self determination is the enemy of organised religion.
