I live in UK, so don't know much about USA prices, but I use Ovations for performing. Failing that, Takamine are good, so are Tanglewood. There's a new company called Vintage who are doing some nice stuff too. Best answer is to go to your local music shop and try out what's in your price range, see wht does it for you. Hope this helps.

the final? No cost issues? forget approximately approximately even high priced Martin, Gibson or maybe Taylor guitars. There are one hundred% hand geared up,custom ordered tool, geared up by utilising a elect group of suited luthiers (Linda Manzer, James A. Olson and others) which will value you $10-15,000 and up into the land of loopy. a number of those developers have a waiting record for a twelve months or greater. Hand chosen cream of the crop factors, info and a build high quality which isn't something yet stunning. And the sound... just to die for. do you like those guitars? certainly not, till you're a international classification artist with various funds. i could say it may be elementary insanity to own some thing like that till your James Taylor, Paul Simon or some thing. maximum novices or maybe intermediate gamers can do nicely on undemanding guitars from Takamine, Yamaha and Ibanez. in basic terms stay faraway from Fender acoustics. They make great electric powered guitars, however the acoustics are generally ultimate for batting practice. for experienced gamers and gigging musicians, a stable Martin, Taylor, Breedlove, Larrivee, Gibson, Seagull, Lapatrie or comparable manufacturers ($a million,000-5,000) is generally the thank you to bypass.

I'm playing a Takamine and I love it! The true advantage of the Takamine comes when you plug it in, though. It has some very good electronics that create a very nice sound when the guitar is amplified.

Your limit of $500 has already crossed out the top brands of Martin, Taylor, and Gibson.
Consider Alvarez, Epiphone, Seagull, Breedlove, but don't rule out unknown brands that suit your style of playing and ease with the instrument.
