After constructing a structure with walls and a roof, it is called a building.

Before it is built it is a construction site.....after completion it is a building :-)

It's just a verb that has been adapted into a noun. People associate the end result with the process, and therefore found it perfectly suitable to use the same word for both.

There isn't a big reason behind it, it's just happened that way.

It may be that building is a shortened version of "building project"

When it is done it is a completed building project or just a building.

probably cuz ppl are still "building" inside it e.g. making the interior look prettier.
when i was young my mum use to always be designing the interior with the latest style
