I got this question in my Philosphy test and this question was out of 10 marks. And it said "you MUST pick one of these choices and give at least three reasons."

If I were to chose to be the parent of the girl who was raped I would acknowledge that neither me nor my daughter had any hand in committing any crime or was responsible in any way for any moral failures. She just happened to be in the wrong place at the worng time, almost like a car accident. My love for her wouldn't be tested in the least.
However if I were to chose to be the parent of the boy I would have to acknowledge that I was a bad parent, and I had helped produce an evil boy, one who does evil things. It would be difficult to continue to love this boy.
I think the choice of parenting the girl is the obvious one.

I'd rather be the parent of the girl who was raped.
1) At least there is hope for getting her help and functioning normally again. There is no hope for a rapist.
2) I wouldn't want to have to disown my own child for doing this.
3) I would question myself forever if I raised a rapist.

OMG! how could any one of us choose? No one would want their child to be a victim of anything NOR would we want to be the parent of someone who victimizes others.
The worst part is when someone victimizes another, society always wants to blame the upbringing (parents) of the perpetrator. This in itself can be stressful since we all know that in MANY cases upbringing had little to do with THEIR choices.

I can't imagine a teacher asking you to answer a question like this especially when many parent don't agree with sex education in school. This is a question that no parent could answer or would want to anwer even hypothetically.Just curious did you ask your own parents or grandparents this question? Please let us know that.

What? I'd rather have neither.
My son/daughter (Not a mother, yet.) is going to be a very nice man/women. Not a killer or a rapist.
If anyone ever touched my daughter/son (A rapist) I think I'd kill them.

No thanks. I would rather raise my son or daughter in a safe and beautiful enivronment where people won't do any of those things. I know my manners and my son or daughter should know it too. I'm not too strict but I know discipline.
