my gosh thats not much.
I'm in AUS and its income tested so because myself and my husband aren't high earners we get A$375 a fortnight for 2 children
plus when they are born you get $4100 'baby bonus'
plus when you do your taxes every year you get an additional bonus of $600 per child
plus we also get subsidised child care benefit depending on income so that for me translates to only pay half the daycare fees for my 1st child ($25 a day) and only $2.80 a day for my daughters after school care.

Can't believe how good we have it!!And there are people here that whinge about the amount they get. I'm grateful for every cent I get to help pay the mounting bills.

It's less for subsequent children (I think it's about £15, but I can't find my statement).
