Is this the way to make friends?

I don't even know why I bother to answer such ignorant questions but here it goes...

First off, our military is not blindly killing innocent cvilians in Iraq, which I assume is what you're trying to imply. CIVILIANS are killing innocent civilians in Iraq. When was the last time you saw one of our soldiers pack a car full of explosives and drive it into a police station? When was the last time you saw one of our soldiers strap explosives to his chest, walk into a crowd of people, and detonate it?

I do agree that there are a few bad apples among our soldiers though. On a few occasions, innocent civilians have been killed by American forces. However, the overwhelming and vast majority of our servicemembers serve their tours honorably and are committed to doing the right thing while they're there. The American media is no help to this either. If a soldier is suspected of murdering innocent civilians, the story is front page material for many major US newspapers. However, if a Navy Seal is awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism and bravery, his hometown newspaper (NYT) barely mentions it.

Sometimes, civilans are killed as the result of legal military operations. The cowardly terrorists take advantage of our rules of engagement, which are extremely strict and limit collateral damgage and civilian casualties as much as possible. They hide amongst women and children and take refuge in Mosques and other places that are off-limits to any type of offensive action. However, we must take action in some cases and it sometimes may lead to unintended casualites. That is simply a part of war.

Another problem is the boneheaded senior military leadership in charge of running this war. A lot of them are more worried about being politically correct and advancing their own careers than providing our forces with the tools and means neccessarry to win this war.

So please, don't label our military incompetent and blame them for the deaths of so many innocent civilians. We have by far, the most capable and moral military in the world. Next time you see a soldier, thank him or her for defending your right to post ridiculous and bogus crap like what you posted.

Because YOU are not running the country, obviously.

Seeing that you have all the answers, run for office.

See how much better you could do!!

Are looking for actual answers or just trying to piss off a bunch of veterans and service people with the ability to engage the target at OVER 300 meters with deadly accuracy? (some people don't think before they ask questions!)

I would say the main reason is that this is an insurgent conflict. UNLIKE the wars of the past, the enemy of freedom (bask in it, we provide it for you) doesn't wear a uniform. They blend in to the peace loving people around them.

If you have to ask retarded questions like this, you obviously don't realize that there are people (much like yourself) too chicken to face a confrontation, they dress up as civilians and blow themselves up in a school yard, police station or outdoor fresh food market.

I don't think you have the ability to grasp this situation (read: illiterate). Have you ever stood up for anything in person? Have you ever protected anything other than yourself, your x-Box anf your cheesy-poofs? Have you ever had a friend that would, without a second thought, give his life for yours, or your for his?

I think you should have to wipe someone else's blood from your face and hands before asking stupid questions like these.....

Armies are suited to all out war, like WW1 and WW2 when the objective of one country is to pound another country into submission. Terrorism and geurilla warfare is not something which armies can do well because it is selective, fighting in a mixed theatre of operations in which the same building will maybe house both innocent civilians, even children, as well as armed enemies.

It's like trying to use a hammer when you should be using tweezers.

Pelagius apparently finds sending USA troops to attack a country a fraction of the size of the USA with none of the advanced weaponry of the USA and all because the USA wants the oil to be heroic.

Blame the enemy,if they choose to hide behind civilians, target civilians with suicide bombs, then they must carry the blame, when the U.S. and Allied military respond to an attack.

By asking this question you show just how naive you really are troll.

Any time soon, please remember to post where you claim to have served, to have the status "veteran" failure to answer will be considered to be an admission that you have lied about having served.

last time i looked we were at war ( i am in the uk )

its not like soldiers wake up one morning and decide to go out and kill some civilians , it will live with the men who did it for the rest of there lives , lots of them will come home with mental problems because of these events

lots of civilians are killed purely because the so called " brave martyrs " we are fighting are nothing but cowards

they use civilians as human shields , hoping that they will not be fired upon because of there presence

they have no repect for human life , no matter if its women or children , as is easily seen with there suicide bombers who blow up buses , and detonate them in markets

you can argue it was wrong to go to war in the first place

but now that we are at war , the least people should do is support the troops in there very difficult job

all the best

careful. this question will be construed as speaking adverse to Islam. i'm no longer effective, even though it really is against the law punishable by demise. bear in mind Islam is the religion of a god who hates us, or a minimum of, who hates the U.S. The Afghans were given run over by a reindeer walking homestead from their bunkers Christmas Eve they'd imagine there is not any such element as Santa yet as for U.S. infantrymen, they trust

There are less civilians being killed in this war than ever before but it still is a war.

Mistakes are going to be made in any war.

Cause your buddies, the terrorists, are pu$%ies and hide behind civilians and actually enjoy when civilians are killed.

Because most continental Europeans today are too cowardly to risk making any mistakes.
USA at least does not target civilians, unlike some other countries' militaries.

All of Armies or Terrorists are same in the world.
They can kill innocent very well and after that they calm with bullshit reasons.
They accepted them-self "Protect them-self" or "Protect their nations" or patriot.
Actually, all of them are bullshit.
All of them are men with guns or men with weapons . They were well-trained for "how to kill others". All of them are accepted they are always on right side.
It is almost funny.

You are very lucky because I am so free in this time.
