I suppose you would have to define what you mean by "love."
And if you can do that, you can do something experts throughout time still cannot...
I think it is possible to fall in love infinite times, depending on who you are, what your "requisites" are and where your standards lay. Also, presuming you mean that romantic notion of a physical and emotional pull so strong your heart does flip flops and such, but also with a bit more substance, say, some sort of lasting devotion to this person, I think the average person feels this, in some measure, many times throughout their lives.
I have fallen in love four different times in my lifetime, three which resulted in relationships and one which did not. I will say that being in love feels different from person to person (meaning my love for one man felt vastly different than for the next), and yes, one person stands out above all, even though he is not the one I chose to stay with or am involved with now.
I cannot say, however, that my experience can even begin to define someone else's, nor be anywhere construed as the norm. I think the experience of love is as individual as the people involved, the point in time it happened, the situation involved, and the resulting relationship/events that occurred because of that love (love like anything else, evolves).
It's a beautiful emotion that can, like any other, bring great joy or pain, good or bad, peace or unrest. But, like all the other wonders of the human condition, it must always remain a mystery, fully open to each one's interpretation and individual experience.

I believed I was in love several times -- more than I want to say! I can't say for certain that I was right a single time, though I don't believe I was ever blinded by lust. One thing I've learned is that real love is never unrequited. I'm sure of that.
Of course it is possible to love more than 10 people in a lifetime, but you'd be awfully busy! It would be most unusual. More than one person can stand out, because every person you get to know that intimately has something deeply special about them, and there will be something special and poignant about the way you relate to one another. But there are so few truly fine people in the world that if you ever meet one, that one will always stand out. For me, that one wasn't a romance, it was my Mom!

I'm not sure I have ever been in Love.
I've only ever been in 5 relationships, was engaged to 1 of them for 4 yrs, But I've been the one thart's broken up with them all & I've certainly never been heart-broken about any of them, so I don't believe I can ever have truely been in Love wth them.
Infact the last relationship I was in for 2 yrs wasn't a Love situation, it was more of a companionship, the L word was never mentioned & we were only ever intimate 3 times.

I have loved one person, and may be falling in love a second time. I don't know how many people you could go through, maybe more so stages in your life - 1st one is more teenagers, 2nd, in your 20's, and 3rd - in your late 20's early 30's. Maybe one more at a later date if you don't end up married to number 3.

Just twice... Looking forward to the third, it's gotta be the charm. Real love doesn't really occur all the time, for that to happen you'll need both parts of the equation inlined...

I believe its possible to love as many people as you want in our lives but I also believe you only really only ever fall in love once in our lives we think we are in love but its not till we fail in our lives that we realise that.. I feel finding our true soul mates are the only way we really fall in love...
