As noted earlier, the answer is, it depends. Having a criminal record normally creates an ineligibility for an immigrant, and immigrant visa applicants are required to submit police clearances from every country they'll lived in for more than 6 months since the age of 14. If the spouse of an American citizen is ineligible he can apply for a waiver through USCIS. Some crimes can be waived, some can't. Crimes involving drugs generally can't, as an example. You need to know that even though he can apply for the waiver, there is no guarantee that he'll get it. That's up to USCIS. If he gets the waiver, he'll be eligible for the visa, if not, he won't.

All the illegal immigrants are criminals and they have a record of breaking U.S. laws with illegal entry into a sovereign nation! So, yes an illegal with a criminal record can gain citizenship by marrying a legally residing American! This happens all to often and has contributed to more and more criminals becoming American citizens, thus the nation continues down the drain into a country containing illegal misfit's and criminals masking as married good citizens! The USA is on it's way out.....how could it survive an invasion and becoming inhabited by nothing less than a bunch of criminal misfits and low-life border-jumpers! It's tragic, for those that came here legally and those who were born here legally!

I just tried https://tr.im/BFmTj last year to see if I could Locate my birth-father. My bio father left me when I was 7, and has refused to be a part of my life since. I grew up with my bio Mother and Step-father. I have only ever talked to my biological father a couple times until now. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his first name, last name, and the street address of a previous address he used to have.
When the search results came back based on the minimal info I had, It pulled up a recent address along with even a phone number. When I called the phone no., I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my biological dad) was there, and he said no but to try back after 5.
I haven't done anything with the info, But I found what I was wanting to have.

If you have a criminal record you're generally not allowed to even enter the US, much less move here. We have plenty of our own criminals already.

Probably not.
When the US consulate in your country access you file they will see your criminal record and they will denied a visa. Even if you have a fiancee in the US and he requests you, the consulate can and will denied the request.

it depends want kind of criminal record you have, because if you killed someone they obviously going to deny you the visa, green card.....even you marry an american. BUT if you only have minor problems it could be.
I dont know why people only want to marry US citizens for papers....now we can see why there are a lot divorces in United States!!!
