Stand up and put him on the floor! Sorry, that's my sense of humour. Don't know where you come from, but here, we call a dog, usually a small lap-dog kind of one, a "pooch".

If you are referring to a bit of a flabby tummy as your "pooch", have you tried sit-ups? I'm no fitness fan, but have you tried any of those "Keep-fit/exercise videos/dvd's" that so many pop stars etc., are so quick to push out; especially just after Christmas/New Year. (Don't you just want to put your foot or fist through the t.v. though when you're sitting there bloated and with the hangover from hell because you've been out to clubs/pubs/bars/parties etc., nearly every day for the last 2 weeks celebrating Xmas and the New Year and never want to see another morsel of turkey or a sausage roll again as long as you live, and what comes on the box? Some 6st. stick insect that says you could look like them if you follow their video, and that they used to look like (and up comes the photo of them looking like a "6st. 1oz. stick insect) before!

Ha, ha, bloody ha! They have never had so much as an ounce of fat on their scrawny little bodies!

On a serious note though, if it's only a "little pooch, or maybe pouch" of excess weight you are carrying on your lower stomach, some form of gentle exercise should help. If you haven't got one of your own, and don't even particularly want to own one, borrow one of your friends' or family's "little pooch" and take it for a walk every day, that's good exercise, and if you're single, what better way of meeting some nice guy (who's probably doing the same; walking his Mum's little pooch). No-one can resist a cute or handsom dog!

If your already pretty slim, and have tried exercising like the others have suggested, you might just be stuck with it. All women have a slight 'pooch' on their lower abdomen, it's their for a reason, to protect your reproductive organs!

Different stomach crunch exercises. Worked for me. Don't give up working out after a few weeks. If you can keep it up for 6 weeks, you will have established a routine. Those are harder to break.

Any aerobic exercise will burn fat running, jogging, bicycling, swimming, working with light weights, stair stepping, dancing, or kickboxing. Anything that gets your heart rate up for over 20-30 minutes.
