If you are going to be married... then yes... once you are married he will be able to be put on the housing list. You do not have to have children to live in base housing.
BUT
If you are dating or even engaged, then no. Housing is for the military member and his/her dependent/s.
If he lives on base he is probably in the barracks... and you can't live or even stay with him there.
Now the base near us... they allow single military members in housing... a 3 bedroom allows 3 single military members to live in it instead of in the barracks. (which I'm not really for... but they have empty homes so they do it) and just like the barracks... you would not be allowed to live with him there either.
He can "apply" to live out in town with you, but that is not a given. Depending on the branch of service... his rank... and the need, he might be required to live in the barracks. (the military might not want to "pay" for him to live out in town when they have rooms empty in the barracks)
He should be able to answer these questions for you.

I was there in 93 and there was the Air Force and Navy at Tinker AFB. It depends. I was in the Navy and they only allowed married on base. The rules change constantly in the military so what was true one day may not be tomorrow. Since there is usually a shortage of base housing, I would guess that you still have to be married. Also, you may have to wait a long time to get that housing after you marry. The military has a problem with people getting married in order to receive the perks. One reason for high divorce rate in military. There are many other reasons for that high rate. Remember that! Also, move yourself whenever possible. Good luck and take care of him.

no, he will not qualify for base housing since you are not married. Additionally, if he is below a certain paygrade( typically E5) he will NOT be allowed to live off base either.

You will not be allowed access to live in the Barracks with him.

what kind of Visa are you using to move here? if it is a visitors' visa, you'd better make sure you leave when it expires. otherwise you would be in a lot of trouble. 90 days max on visitor's visas. you'd need a student or work visa( and qualify for either) in order to stay here longer.

Unfortuantly no,I am going through the same problem my boyfriend is stationed at Vance in Oklahoma and I will be moving down there as well. We can't find a house that will allow us to bring my dogs and his apartment won't allow them because they are large dogs. From what he has told me its better to live off base anyways.

The military will not provide you with quarters of any type. You're just another soldier's girlfriend. Only married couples are allowed base housing.

although there are some exceptions, most couples without dependents (children) have to live off base.

No, you have to be married to live together. I liked it better living in town, though. It leaves their work at work and makes your home feel like home.
