You can change his diet by removing the kernel corn from the seed mix (very fattening) and the striped sunflower seeds. Add a few more fresh veggies and feed him a serving size once a day.Try giving him a few tubes to run through and some carboard tubes he can chew on to burn calories.

I adopted a VERY fat female mouse from a pet store that they had used for breeding for mice to sell as snake food(yuk). When I adopted her they told me she probably wouldn't live over a week because of her weight and age.
I did put her on a diet, in the sense that I fed her the proper amount and did not give her a lot of treats. I also gave her veggies. I put a wheel in for her. She did lose quite a bit of weight and started running in her wheel. She probably felt better and had more fun than she ever had. Mice are very inquisitive and she was so fat she could hardly get around. She even got to where we could cuddle her and that is not very easy with too many mice.
She lived another 7 mos and died in her sleep.
I believe you have to be sure you are not overfeeding her because it is really bad for her health.
Good for you for noticing. Hope she lives a long and happy life.

Are you feeding them the right things? (Mouse feed, not scraps from your table?) You can try feeding them less food, but realistically, mice eat so little in the first place, it would be hard to cut that down much more.
And really, how long do mice really live? 2-3 years if you're lucky. Let the guys enjoy themselves!

Reduce the amount of food,
Increase greens,
Put toilet paper tubes (the cardboard inner tubes) in the cage, for chewing,
Do you play with them? as in, get them out the cage and let me run about a bit? - I had gerbils and used to play with them on our staircase. ^ ^

Dont please dont feed it less food it will change him. i suggest getting him another diet but dont give less food, a running wheel is a very common exercise thing, let it have more room so it can run around , let it relax and not scaring it ok? and lastly feed it vegies not too much.
