The Mormons certainly have never been big on African-Americans or other people with black skin. Have a look at pictures of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir; last time I looked, I only saw one black face in the group.

It was not until the 70's that a black person could be a pastor (although they call it a Bishop, but that's besides the point) - yeah that was true in the past, but like every other religion and group the roots of racism run deep in people and take a while to overcome. But the important thing is now in the Mormon religion, any man who is faithful in following the commandments can be ordained to the priesthood.

Not true at this point, primarily because we Mormons don't have pastors. We have bishops, stake presidents, and higher leaders, and I know that blacks can be called to these positions. The blacks and the priesthood thing was changed in the 1970s, so even if you're asking about that, it's not true anymore.
They can't be a pastor in the Mormon church because Mormon churches don't have pastors.

We don't have pastors, the closest would be a bishop of a ward, and blacks can hold any calling tat anyone else can. My husband and I were living iwth my in laws in San Francisco when the Loma Prieta hit and we attended a ward in The City and teir bishop was black, lived on Treasure Island and everyone figured he'd not get to the meeting, But he did and everyone was so excited! He seemed a much loved bishop.
There are places in Africa where the leaders are not only all black, but young to boot.

I am not a Mormon but went to hear Glady's Knight and her choir perform and give a testemonial about what brought her into the Mormon Church. Her husband also. The choir which was made up of people of the various "races" performed numbers from their respective cultures. I saw all people welcomed and represented in this church. It was a beautiful uplifting evening that I'm grateful to have been apart of.

I checked the Church's web site and see they have probably several hundred thousand members of the Church in Africa and 3 temples. Not sure how many chapels there are.
Your question seems a little naive or purposefully intended to cast a shadow on that religion. Not too cool IMO when you look at the facts.

its not true. joseph smith himself gave blacks the preisthood. it was brigham young who started the racial feelings in the church. And brigham young had problems with lots of people. but ever since just before the civil rights movement, the church has allowed people of all races to have the priesthood, and in the mormon church, thats all you need to be a "pastor" although we don't use that title.

I address this issue in my question. They can be Bishops (pastors) they couldn't from the time the church first was established up until 1978.

If Wong Dong is a Mormon then think God they don't want blacks in their church, wouldn't want to be caught up in any more racial crap than I already have to deal with. Wong Dong proved he is not very smart.

Blacks can hold all positions in the church that any other race can, including Prophet, if he is so called.
