He called me the day before he was to go to Iraq to let me know he was going we did not have enough time to exchange information, I just figured he'd call me when he got back, his family moves alot and I really only knew them from a couple of times we saw each other, when he was in the states I had his cell, I live in CA and He lived in TX and before that NC and before that Oregon so he didn't have anything stable, would there be any way its been a year and still no news.

I may be able to look on military.com's buddy finder or Army Knowlege Online if you email me his name. Also if you know his name cnn.com has a list of casualties from the war that you can go through alphabetically if you think (heaven forbid) that something may have happened to him.

My son's platoon is in the 10th Mountain Division of Army. They just got back after 12 months in Afghanistan & will return to Afghanistan in 12 months. He says the rotation is 1 year here & 1 year there.

You could try his/her family. Unless you and they have a conflict, I imagine they would want their son/daughter to receive support from home.
You MIGHT be able to contact the American Red Cross or the USO.

Well if you know his phone number you could call him. If not then you would need to know his unit and find a way to call the unit.
