Why did he take away his strenght? It was not his fault that his hair was cut short. It certainly is not a sin to fall in love and trust a girl.

He was sleeping with the enemy.
He knew better, and paid the consequences.

Samson was instructed not to tell any one about how he could be made vulnerable, yet because he loved the woman more than he loved God, he disobeyed God and told her. She then cut his hair and put Samson and all of the Israelite children at the mercy of the evil ruler. Not a nice lady. Samson was punished for being disobedient. Then because of his disobedient behavior, it put all of God's children(that he was suppose to protect) at the mercy of the wicked ruler and he had his eyes burned out, and was put in the grinding mill, and treated worse than an animal. The people did not realize that his hair had grown out and that is when he prayed to the Lord God and received his strength back one last time and in his death, he killed more philistines, than he had in his life time.

God punished Samson, and it WAS punishment, for disobedience of his Nazarite vows and his disobedience to the Law of God.

His infatuation with a Philistine woman led him to sin. The Israelites were not to marry outside their nation, they were to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. While there is no evidence that Samson married Deliah, he did desire her more than he did the righteousness that comes from obedience to God.

Samson later repented and God allowed him to take vengeance on his tormentors.

Samson was a Nazarite. He knowingly broke their rules, and the last of them was to cut his hair. That's why it matters that he ate honey out of a corpse. Nazarites were supposed to steer clear of dead things, not drink wine or anything associated with a vineyard, and not cut their hair. Cutting his hair was simply the last of the rules that Samson broke.

If you read the story you will see that isn't the only rule he broke. God gave his parents three rules to make sure he followed to keep his strength. 1. He could not touch anything dead. 2. He could not drink strong drinks (i.e. wine & couldn't have grapes) 3. He was never to cut his hair. When you read this story notice that he broke all three rules. God didn't take away his strength after breaking the first and even after he broke the second but only after breaking all three rules did he lose his strength.

Samson took a Nazarite vow, and didn't take it very seriously. One condition of the Nazarite vow was that one was not to cut their hair (another was that they would not consume any wine or grape juice--another place Samson fell way short of his vow).

He himself was specifically instructed by God not to cut his hair, and he allowed it to be done anyway. When God says to do something, YOU DO IT. Doesn't matter how ridiculous or frivolous it may be, you obey God.

God did not punish Samson. Instead of obeying and believing God, He believe the request of Delilah for cutting his hair inspite of the fact that His power ios within his hair as given by God to him. He had forgotten God in place of the woman he love.

Well if you want to believe this stupid story, I guess you would have to say Samson's HORNINESS was stronger than his faith in God. Doubt it was the loss of his hair that took away his strenght for Delilah must have been one hell of a woman.

With great powers come great responsibilities. Samson lost his focus; the same way Adam lost his focus. Although great people have fallen short, we can rejoice that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, remained focus and faithful until the end. Therefore, we must follow his footsteps closely.
