You stay away completely. You don't allow yourself to participte in any manner.
You first HAVE to know that the relationship is "trouble".
Sometimes, a person does not know that a relationship is real trouble, until they are deep into the relationship. When the realiztation that they are in real trouble dawns on them .. they should get out of it with the easiest way possible .. then go forward without the relationship. It probably won't be an easy thing to do .. but in the long run, it will be well worth it.
Look for 'red flags' in a relationship. If something seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
It's a decision. And everyone does not always make the right decisions .. even though we try to.
The decisions we put into our lives, determines our lives.

Try reading a book called, "Are you the One for Me?" by Dr. Barbara deAngelis. It talks about why you attract the same person over and over. I think you'll get a lot from it.

Just gotta get strong in yourself - develop a hobby or interest and persue it with all your might. A good man will support your interests and work together with you. A big clue to a looser is someone who wants you to quit all your activities to dote on him.
