Unfortunately when the law is political, it is enforced politically.
That is why a child sits in jail for attempted murder for a schoolyard fight, and another actual murder goes uninvestigated much less punished. Welcome to the new Old South.
I had a friend who had his wife and three of five children murdered in the old Old South, just for not being bigoted enough in choosing his friends. No case was ever opened on the murder of his family either.
I had thought that enlightenment was a one way path, and humans were finally able to step free of the ooze that we had struggled against for so many thousands of years.
Who knew that the ooze had its own constituency and would climb up after us.

Others have already pointed out that there IS an open case and WHY no one has been charged.
I am certainly not familiar with the area where the crime occurred, but I do know form similar reports in my state, that small town police forces, where murder is not a common occurrence, are not going to have the best murder investigators.
That is just common sense.
As a corollary, when they do find a suspect, the case against them is often weak and easily picked apart by the defense.
There is no sense charging someone with murder if the case is not ironclad, when time will often expose the deed later.
About 2 weeks ago, I read in the LA times of a case where a brother was arrested for killing his then ~ 5 year old sister more then 30 years ago. DNA did him in and IIRC he confessed, and he had not been considered a suspect until recently. The family is not white, either.
In murder cases, you don't get 2 bites at the apple - that is why the OJ case is dead - having been convinced enough to try to convict a first suspect and having failed, it is not feasible to bring a case against another suspect and hope for a conviction.
That is why you wait. Emotionally, it is hard, but legally, it is the only way to go.

Actually, there is an open case of murder in the woman's death. That does not mean the police have *active* leads in the case. If the perpetrator is a gangbanger of some kind, white or black, then they move in a culture of "Don't Snitch!" so you know their friends and family sure won't talk to the cops even if they knew for sure. Of course they have the real threat of retaliation (getting killed themselves) hanging over their heads as well. Also, what if it appears that a possible suspect also a member of the Muslim community there? Sometimes a murder investigation can go on for years with not a whole lot of action, but people are still quietly digging away at it nevertheless.
The other link is taking the approach that because the victim was non-white and non-Islamic, the writers think that the Louisiana police have given the victim far less priority. I'm not sure either way. I tend to trust in the positive intentions of others. But, realistically, given the way things are these days, with the war and all, I also know that not all communities are bastions of tolerance and stalwart enough to stand up to whatever brand of bigots they've got. Would that they were.

First and foremost, Nancy Grace is a complete idiot.
That being said, is this about a case getting media attention? Cases go cold ALL the time. White people. Black people. Muslims. Indians Asians. All kinds of murders go cold. The amount of media coverage it gets has absolutely no bearing on anything. The twenty or thirty murders a year that actually get media attention are a drop in the bucket compared to the number of murders nationwide. I guess people are going to the Fred Goldman School of Public Revenge or something. It just doesnt matter what Nancy Grace or any other media outlet says or does. The ONLY thing that matters is the investigation.
There is a case that has been opened. They said it went cold. It happens. I didnt see anything to suggest that there was a lack of investigation, or a suspect that is being ignored. Frankly, I dont see the issue here. As the husband said, somebody knows something. What does he expect them to do? Go on Nancy Grace's show and confess? This may come as a shock, but MOST murders are not solved by Dr. Henry Lee or Dr. Baden in their DNA labs. MOST murders and crime scenes do not have the kind of trace evidence you find on CSI. MANY murders go unsolved or go cold to be solved later. It happens.
Implying that the case isnt being investigated because the victims were muslim seems to be a bit unreasonable based upon the reports so far. The race card can be played in many ways. This is one of them. If the case is not being prosecuted because of race, the DA, Detectives and anyone else involved should lose their job and/or face criminal charges. But I dont see anything to support that yet.

Obviously, the detectives of the local police department have on open file on the case. There is no court case file opened yet because to do that you have to name a suspect for which at least the police can show probable cause for an arrest warrant, and the police evidently have not been able to come up with a suspect yet.

Not to sound like a jerk, but the fact she was a Muslim, and you're dealing with a po-dunk hick police/sheriff's office that probably couldn't find their a ** if it was stapled to their foreheads is the problem. Sadly, because it's not a white, Christian, female like Laci Peterson or that other gal from Pennsylvania or wherever, she's a minority, so they don't care.
It sounds like they do have an "open case" on it, but they did shoddy police work/investigations, and no forensic evidence was gathered-which I find sooo hard to believe, haven't even figured out a time of death? Please....that's so pathetic. So it's now a cold case file, and they're most likely still not doing anything to figure it out. Like mentioned, it's all politics....

AS STATED IN THE ARTICLES SHE WAS MURDERED AND TIME IS UNKNOWN.
HAVING WORKED AS A DETECTIVE, IF SHE WAS IN THE HOUSE AND WAS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, HER BODY AND LAVIDITY WOULD HAVE BEEN SLOWED OR SPED UP DEPENDING ON ROOM TEMP. THUS ONE COULD HAVE STATED BETWEEN SUCH AND SUCH BUT NOT REALLY ACCURATE.
ANOTHER PROBLEM IS AS MENTIONED HER AFFILIATION WITH A KNOW GROUP THROUGH A BROTHER? COULD HAVE BEEN A REPRISAL?
COULD HAVE BEEN A HIT FOR HIRE?
COULD HAVE BEEN A CRAZY WHO DID NOT LIKE HER AS A MUSLIM IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD? WHO KNOWS?
SOMEONE KNOWS. WHEN THE AMOUNT IS LARGE ENOUGH OR FEAR FROM A REPRISAL GROUP IS GONE, SOMEONE WILL COME FORTH. TIME IS THE HEALER TO ALL.
SOME CASES NEVER GET SOLVED AND SOME IT TAKES 20-30 YEARS.

The person to contact is the insurance company since money is the motive. They will conduct a investigation. When somebody doesn't get paid then people talk.

There was a police investigation, so a case was opened.
Do you mean no one has been arrested?
