Are they free to visit in general? From indoor and outside?

Might we be wearing short pants and T-shirt if visiting only from the outside?

Yes all temples/wats are free to visit. You can however make a donation when you are there.

As for dress code, t-shirts are ok in or outside the wat. As for shorts, you cannot wear them inside but the compound is ok. But since you are already gonna visit the wat why just go outside? Get a pair of pants and t-shirt and visit them

Have fun!

if u don't go in, whatever u wear is fine.

but if u decide to go in, it's respectful to wear at least t-shirt & pants. the Grand Palace has stricter rules : no sleeveless, see through shirts/tops; no shorts/short pants/mini skirts/tight fitting pants; no strapless sandles; long sleeve shirts cannot be rolled up; but they do have clothing to loan to tourists. when u enter some temples, u will need to remove your shoes.

but don't just admire from the outside - go in & have a look around!!
