i wanted to how can i find out in what part of LA do i live in.
like i hear people say: "i lived in south central, or downtown, or west LA. where can i find like a map showing all LA

The numbering system in Los Angeles begins at lst Street and Main St. Anything north of 1st Street will be, for example...100 N. Main St. or anything south will be 100 S. Main St. Anything east will be 100 E. 1st St. or west will be 100 W. 1st St. So get a map and begin there....1st and Main. Go south to find South Central, go west to find West Los Angeles and downtown is the immediate area surrounding 1st & Main.

The best map and satelite is Google Earth..if you dont have it donwload it.

Just keep away from South central, East LA because those areas are not good to live( my opinion). West LA is okay.

Maps are all over the place. Yahoo Maps and Mapquest come to mind. None of them will say "South Central" or other designations. Those are subjective and pop culture.

i live in southern california. there are some good cities like: torrance, carson, el segundo, redondo, etc.
