God has given me a passion for prayer- the power of prayer, is not in the prayer, but the ONE that we pray too. The power of prayer that I have experienced is not necessarily direct answers- the power is in the fact that God has used prayers to teach me the importance of seeking Him. I have been praying for healing from a chronic disease that causes pain for many years. He has chosen not to heal me physically, yet- but I have experienced something greater- and that is grace, strength and encouragement from Him, throughout the pain. God has the power to heal me, but He has chosen to show me His power in other ways-
EDIT- for Beletje- for someone who says that prayer only gives a placebo effect- it is interesting to me that you say, you do not pray- how do you know what effect it has if you don't do it. Take it from someone who does pray, God is effective!!!!

No - the most powerful thing of prayer is the placebo effect. And since I don't pray, I don't get that effect from it.

You can pray to Allah, God, Ballah, Dog, Buddha, or whoever you like.
Your prayer will be granted sometimes and sometimes denied.
A coincidence and prayer is exactly the same.

I don't think its right to promote your personal experince of closeness to God to be advertise this way. It will be just made fun of. Others can't experience the way you experience. Some people, instead of promoting God tend to promote themselves.

I've seen lots of people waste lots of time praying instead of doing something useful.
