Does the ticking go away? some chain noise can happen lifters leak down over night. I would allow the engine to warm up and drive easily until the temp gauge starts into normal range. Congrat's you have the first Altima 6 Speed coupe I have ever heard of. All I have seen at my dealership have been CVT's.
Do not turbocharge a high compression engine you would have to replace the pistons to make a good turbo/supercharge power increese. And do not use regular gasoline in your high compression engine you might be hearing ping from low octane. Premium only 91 to 93 octane section 9 page 3 second paragraph 3.5 liter engine must use premium fuel and not thet junky GLO-CO gass station stuff.
