You should confine her and let her out often. Praise her when she does her business outdoors. Give her praise and a treat. I have a Jack Russell who is six years old. He pees when he is excited. He will go out and "go, pee-pee" when asked.
He has a problem that some times he needs to go often and he hates to be left outside alone. He gets scared. You can train her to go when you put her out. Don't let her run all over until you know she won't go inside, unless you're there to watch her every minute.

I have a Lhasa Apso and had the same problem--It took me 8 months to completely train him. You may want to purchase a book on this breed because they are very smart and think you are the pet, lol. Praise him when he goes outside, when he goes inside stress that it's a No No. I also used a cage for awhile--inside 20 mins. after an accident. Thank goodness he got the message--they do not like to be alone. Good luck.

Have you tried crating her? If not get her a crate. She will have to stay in it. Take her outside like you do when they are puppies. In the morning, after a nap and after she eats. Reward her when she is good but put her back in the crate when she is not. Make her stay there for at least an hour if it is for punishment. Do not leave her unsupervised at all. If you have to go take a shower, put her in the crate. Ours gets in his crate when he is told HOME. He also goes there if he does something that he thinks he is going to get into trouble for. Make sure that she gets enough exercise. I have never had any problems crate training. Good luck to you.

Is she crate trained? If she can't be supervised, in the crate she goes. When she comes out of the crate, go outside for a potty break. Take treats and reward for potty outside. You can start giving her a command to go "potty". Always a ton of praise! If she has an accident, bring it to her attention and tell her "Uh oh" and she has to go somewhere for a time out.

Is she spayed? If not... do that. Control her water intake. Let her have water 6 to 8 times a day and within 10 minutes of drinking water, get her outside and make sure she goes. And then reward. Crate her when your gone.

Keeping her in a small crate and keeping her in it without water, take her out side to urinate and praise her when she goes when and where your want her to. Lhasa's are notorious for this and it is VERY hard to correct. I wish you lots of luck.

I would try to paper train her first and when that is accomplished, try to encourage her to go outside. Be firm and certainly don't hit your dog when she exhibits bad behavior. But reward good behavior. They are highly intelligent and I believe you will accomplish your goal if you are patient enough.
