Yes. And Thomas Jefferson said that a nation needed a bloody revolution every 20 years to purge the country of corruption. As for a revolt in the US I don't think any would be successful under any circumstances by civilians. But a strong possiblity if done by organized military coup. And anything would be hard to conceal. A revolution would probably be broken up before it could be organized.
On the other hand the American Revolution had no chance of being won. Britain was the sole superpower of the day. I'm an athiest, but you could almost convince me of a god on that. Might make people mad, but I didn't consider Washington that good a general. He just didn't win battles, until the end. But I credit him with persistance.

Absolutely, our founding fathers thought so and this country came into being that way. Sometimes a rebellion is necessary to effect change.
