Sometimes there are some really tiny calcium carbonate deposits that develop naturally in the ear, I think after a viral infection. These tiny stones float around in the fluid of the ear giving the sensation that you describe, the head spins and sometimes you might feel like throwing up. Sometimes, as they settle in a new position (according to your body position) the symptoms should get reduced. I suggest you talk to your doctor because he can prescribe medications that can help you to better deal with these symptoms.

Have you had enough water today? Drink a glass of water. Do you have sinus problems? Sinus problems can be a pain in the butt & really mess you up as far as dizziness goes.
To find out if you have a sinus problem: Press two (2) fingers - gently - underneath your bones under your eyes (not your cheek bones) ex: right under where you might get a black eye. If it hurts, you might have a sinus problem, if it continues, you may have a sinus infection. See a doctor.
Other than that, look at what you ate. Does this happen often? You may be allergic to something that you came in contact with. Do you get headaches? What medications are you taking? Are you mixing them with anything?
I'm not a doctor.
Hope you feel better.
