Something light, like Glidden's "Floral Twist" would highlight the red furnishings. Then add accents (cushions, window treatments, artwork, etc) in harmonious shades, like eggplant and/or gold.

With a red couch you have many options. One to avoid would be green but some you may never think of but look great with reds are some peachy orange colors if you like to give the room some flare I would try that. If you want it more subdued I would go with a nice beige. Deep golds go well with those oranges and reds also.

Green. It is the most popular hue of this year, the color green is very diverse, ranging from shades of lush grasses, to crisp celery, to deep olive. Works very well with red furnishings.
Check out some paint manufacturer web sites, such as Behr or Sherwin Williams. They offer tips, on-line color samples, and technology where you can take a digital picture of your room and you can download and change colors. Gives you a realistic sense of how the room will look.

A light smoky shade of green is lovely -- basil, moss -- or a brighter celery is cheerful. Green, on a color wheel is the direct compliment of red, and makes a wonderful contrast. Then you can place pillows on the sofa that include shades of red as well as the green wall color.

Suggestions:
1] first, avoid other reds. They are very difficult to match.
2] repeat whatever wall color you choose in throw pillows, and use wall. sofa, and a third color for accessories - lamps,
vases, ornaments, flowerpots, candles/holders
3] Try:
white or ivory
dusty rose [ if sofa is a blue-red ]
banana or lemon
mint or sage
forest or moss
sky or smoke blue
teal
caramel, [ espresso accents ]
gray, [ black accents ]

well it depends if you want something light or dark; what look are you trying to achieve? you could go for a light burgundy, or brown; any shade that you like; if you think that those colors are too dark then you also have the option of a differnt much, lighter shade of red; If you take a sample of the color and go to any home depot store, or paint store, you could really "see" and compare what matches.

A cream or off white would be very pretty. Too much red in a room is not good.

because of the fact which you have lots of sunshine, i think of a suitable chocolate brown (think of milk chocolate to darkish chocolate) could look heat and sophistated. i could additionally paint your hearth, perchance a white or cream. With the army, cream, and chocolate it can be a surprising place to take a seat down back. Plus because of the fact which you may nonetheless have generally neutrals you ought to truly accessory with a formidable colour, like pink and alter it with the seasons or your temper! good success!

Well it depends on your floor colour, lighting and what mood you want. You could paint it a nice maroonish of a nice green. For ideas watch some designing shows and ask around.
