Make sure you eat breakfast, that will get your metabolism going. Try to eat a lot of fiber also.

All of the already given advice with caution, do so with the help or guidance of a health care professional. I would venture to ask, why do you like to increase your metabolism? Is it "really" slow?

By "all of the above" I mean to infer that you need to change in terms of lifestyle - inclusive of eating, sleeping habits - diet, exercise, and attitude...for keeps (versus, just for the moment). It is a worthwhile goal but one you must approach wisely and with the best intentions so you can follow through.

Here are a few websites that may guide you. In conclusion, if I may reiterate:

1. WHY do you want to increase your metabolism? (This has its good and bad points just like everything - is it really slow?), and

2. Should you want to go ahead, DO SO WITH the help and guidance of a health care professional.

Eat small meals and snacks throughout the day, rather than eating set meals. The Europeans spend a lot of time eating. Why is this? They eat throughout the day without and continually burn those calories throughout the day. Eating foods that are mostly water (like lettuce, raw vegetables, watermelon, etc.) also speed up your metabolism as they do not take as much time to digest as meats, breads, and sweets.

Eating peanuts can increase your metabolism. As long as you exercise, or just even going walking.

The warrior diet encourages small meals early in the day and a heavy one at dinner. This allows your muscles to have nutrition as they rebuild while you sleep. The light daytime meals keep you from feeling heavy as you exercise.

Eat a big breakfast, don't eat after 8 pm, and lift weights to build more muscle. Remember it happens slowly. It has to become a way of life.

Exercise like a demon.
Eat like a bird. (Birds eat half their bodyweight every day - but in seeds.)
