I am attending the international student media festival. I am from Florida and I've been heering things about the fires and the area being evacuated. What should I do?!

Don't worry. Even though all parts of Southern California have lots of smog because of the fires in San Diego, Anaheim is safe.

Anaheim as itself is ok but the air quality has been poor. I thought I left the house to go to work but I must have accidentally walked into a neighbor's chimney. Irvine and Lake Forest are 10 miles away but the arson fires are on the southeast portion of these upper middle class cities. . Some answers above are from deranged individuals. SNA formerly called John Wayne Airport ( in Santa Ana but one block from Irvine)has been closed much of Tuesday. There have been some flight delays of aircraft flying into L.A. due to smoky skies. You will have fun at your convention. I turned off the humidity switch for you, drove away the flies and sent the rain clouds packing but the weather is warm.. Wind is shifting all the time. They are calm now. .

I am just a few minutes from Anaheim. No fires here but within about 30-40 minutes there are some burning. The air quality is bad, the sky is still dim and my eyes are burning a little, but you will be fine.

Well, with all the evacuations going on I'm pretty sure the festival would be cancelled. E-mail the head honcho of the festival and see. Personally, I would say its NOT safe. The winds are strong and changing directions, and the fires are getting more and more out of control at this point.

The Airline would inform you if there was a change or diversion out of the wildfire zone. I'm going to assume your going to land from the east into Aneheim. Other than the air being very smoky, you shouldn't be in danger immediately when getting off the plane.

Don't worry about it. The fires are down near San Diego. I don't believe thats near Anaheim.

Well, I assume you will fly into either LAX or SNA...neither of which is near the fires. Anaheim isn't near them either. You will be fine. :)
