I read your question previous to this one in which you say that you are not really romantically involved with your boyfriend as you prefer women. That is fine, but if you have no feeling for him in a romantic sense, then why are you thinking of buying him jewelry and if you never see him wearing it that should tell you something. I would give him something more neutral like a good book or treat him out to dinner and a movie or give him a subscription to some auto mechanic or auto racing magazine as you said he enjoys cars.
