i have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. but there has been such significant weight GAIN with this. the pain is horrific at best. i work as a hair dresser and in my early 40's. bowels and bladder are greatly affected as is i feel like my lungs are being crushed along with this. i passed it off as due to the weight gain.

Parkinson's disease is an idiopathic, slowly progressive, degenerative CNS disorder characterized by slow and decreased movement, muscular rigidity, resting tremor, and postural instability. Diagnosis is clinical. Treatment is with levodopa plus carbidopa, other drugs, and, for refractory symptoms, surgery.
Parkinson's disease affects about 1% of people ≥ 65 yr and 0.4% of those > 40 yr. The mean age at onset is about 57 yr. Rarely, Parkinson's disease begins in childhood or adolescence ( juvenile parkinsonism).
The excerpt above is from the second source below...
Another possible cause of the condition ... could be over-exertion and over use of the muscles. If you work out or use weights to condition yourself, you may have over done it. If you are basing your overweightness on basic criteria used for any and everybody...but you have sculpted yourself using weights, it is a whole different matter. It sounds as if you could use some physical therapy to restore your ability to perform ordinary tasks. If someone in your area has a physical therapy clinic, visit it to determine if they may be able to measure your fat/muscle ratio and determine how much of your body weight is affected by muscle weight. Muscle weighs more than fat...so if you've bulked up, it causes your height to measure overweight when it is actually heavy muscle. And, it could be something more serious. See the source below...and get screened to eliminate it as a possibility. The rigidity factor is the basis for concern.

Step 1 To burn fat you need to eat less calories than you burn. Only through this calorie deficit will your body begin to use its stored fat reserves as energy and you will see your body fat percentage start to decrease. You can use the Daily Calorie Needs Calculator (linked below) to estimate how many calories you burn per day. Step 2 To burn even more calories, you should be engaging in some sort of cardiovascular exercise 3-5 times per week for 30-60 minutes per day. Cardio will burn a lot of calories which will force your body to use fat stores for energy. Anything that you do continuously and at a high intensity can be good cardio: tennis, running, basketball, bike riding or even house work such as mowing your lawn. Step 3 Building muscle is only possible by pushing them further than what they are used to. Only by overloading them will they respond and eventually get bigger and stronger. You can use free weights, machines or even body weight for push ups, pull ups and sit ups. Step 4 Building muscle requires that your diet is high in good quality protein. Protein from vegetable sources do not contain all the essential amino acids. To build muscle you need all of the essential amino acids. Foods containing good protein come from animal products such as meat, dairy, fish and eggs. If you are a vegetarian you can get good quality protein from eating a wide variety of foods. Step 5 Replace the sugar you eat with complex carbohydrates. Sugar is digested very quickly and gives your body a large amount of calories right away. If these calories are not burned up quickly, your body will store them as fat. Complex carbs are not digested as quickly and will give you a slower energy release. This will allow you to use the energy over a longer period of time without it being stored as fat.

There is a rare gene that changes muscle into stone. It is called "stone mans disease" but the medical term for it is fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP). It is serious and I would go to an orthopedic doctor if you have questions.

My opinion is you should be seen by a rheumatologist and have blood work done. The symptoms you described sounds to me like you may have Fibromyalgia. Remember-this is just my opinion.
