http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/bigcat2.asp It's a Maine Coon. But it's a small woman with the cat stretching out so it's not really as "huge" as you may think.

Looks like a Maine coon, a friend my my family has a female Maine coon/tabby cat mix. She's a pretty cat and is even tempered. Once she gets to know someone she'll let you get close.

But be prepared to do a lot of brushing, combing, etc...

We had a cat just like it (it was a stray - apparently, someone moved away and left the cat behind, so we 'adopted' it - or he 'adopted' us - lol). Anyway, the breed of cat is Persian/Angora or Maine Coon. They are usually long-haired cats. When I went to the link you posted and saw the pic, that cat certainly reminded me of our cat "Rusty" that we loved very much. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car and died. He's long gone, but the cat in that pic is certainly a twin of our Rusty. Well, sorry for babbling on here. It is a Persian/Angora or Maine Coon- could be a mix of both. They have fluffy tails as is the rest of their body fluffy due to their long hair.

I think that is a bogus picture, but Maine Coons are very big and are bred for their really sweet dispositions. My significant other has one and I love him to death. His name is Ty(coon) and he helps me make the bed, touches you with his paws to get attention--and is the biggest baby in the world. He looks like the cat in that picture but not nearly THAT big. He's probably 26-28" long, 14"-16" tall and weighs 26 pounds.

Also,I have a cat who is nearly that big, except he isn't quite as long. He's a domestic longhair, with I suspect, some Maine Coon blood in him,and he weighs 18 lbs.

That is a Maine Coon kitty. I want one too, but I am not about to pay $600 for one...I have had many opportunities, just not the will and cash!

I just love long-hair cats in general...and mine is long-hair, so I am happy I guess.

That is a very large Maine Coon. We had one a few years back and he had the sweetest personality! They are great cats!

ROFLMAO!! Your cat is a dead ringer for our Kitty Fox. Your kitty is a Maine Coon or at least mostly that. Fox is 19 pounds. Yours looks about that as well. Have fun they are great cats to have around.

One more thing, MC's are the closest thing to a dog in a cat. I pat mine just like a dog. He likes it.

Another thing you should be aware is that these cats are prone to diabetes. Get him on a food that is low in carbs and high in protein. Raw meat is preferable, but dry kibble is fine.

Does yours howl yet? MC's like to howl when want something. Ours howls at 4 am for no apparent reason. He also likes to sleep between our pillows.

Overfed Longhaired orange tabby...but that's just a guess. I do know Maine Coons grow really big.

I'm not sure what kind of cat that is.. But what I do know is that my brother has a kitten exactly like that cat.. His cat is three months old and is bigger than my cat, which is 7 months old..Those type of bigger cats have six claw's and huge thumbs... I'm going to get a hold of him and ask him what kind of cat it is... But he can not have another cat so in about a month he will be trying to give the cat away..
