Could be stress, or an empty stomach. At that age, he should be eating every few hours. If he's not eating well boil up some plain chicken and give him that, it'll help with the diarrhea if he eats just plain chicken and no dog food for a few days. Don't treat him with any medicines, he's too young and it would just make things worse. If the diarrhea persists for several days despite switching to chicken, take a stool sample to the vet to check for internal parasites.
Also, you shouldn't use spot on flea treatments like Advantix. Studies have shown the chemicals seep into their blood and organs and cause cancer and liver failure. There are many natural products like Tea Tree Oil and Neem Oil, and natural blends of essential oils, which are every bit as effective in killing/repelling fleas and have no unpleasant side effects.

It could be a reaction to the Advantix but that is not a common thing. If he continues to throw up and has diarrhea, take him to the vet first thing tomorrow. He should go to the vet anyway for a well puppy check and to check for worms. Since he came with fleas, that is a pretty good sign that he may have other problems too. Be sure to get him to the vet soon even if h e seems to get better. Try wiping off some of the Advantix. Did you use the dose that was recommended for your weight of puppy. IF he gets worse, shaking, seizures, take him to the vet right away.

VETS. Stress doesn't cause anything as extreme as chucking up bile and watery diarrhoea. Your dog has only had his first set of shots, so his immunity is not fully covered. Don't take any chances, at least PHONE the vet.
Useful tip: if ever you're worried about an animal, please don't turn to Yahoo Answers. There are no vets on here, and no one can diagnose or treat a problem over the internet.

It could be parvo it is very life threating if in fact it is what you puppy has so if it happens again i would go and get him checked out asap. But it is also possible its stress. HOw ever you did say he has been totaly fine but you have only had him for a day so i dont know exactly how you could come up with that result.

It could be from stress, if you haven't had him checked for parasites take him to your vet and have them do a fecal flotation.
Otherwise put him on a bland diet, boiled chicken, plain white rice, you can buy canned chicken, scrambled egg
watch his stools to see if they firm up. when they do you can gradually introduce his regular kibble over a 7 day period.
good luck and congrats!

It could be stress, or could be other things like Parvo, Coccidia, or Giardia. If it continues tomorrow, I would for sure take him to the vet to get tested. Make sure he is taking in enough fluids, puppies can dehydrate quickly.

My dog does this lots. It is usually when she is streesed, or when we gave her something that did not "agree" with her. She ended up being allergic to chicken

you need to regulate their water and food intake at that age. it is probably from overeating and drinking to much water to fast.
