Science and technology provide you guys with so much. I mean, there’s modern medicine, modern communication, transportation and let’s not forget that technology has helped your religion spread across the globe. And yet here so many of you are, instructing your children to reject science and knowledge in favor of their antithesis – blind faith.

You're exactly right. The same people who take full advantage of the luxuries science has provided to them say it must be wrong when it starts to conflict with their fairy tales.

I don't deny the physical convenience brought about by science and technology. In fact, I enjoy it to the fullest. However, it has never provided me with the sense of spiritual peace and love found in a priest's sermon.

Before you click that thumbs down, I want you to know that I live in the Philippines and many priests here are far different from the bad pastors you claim to have witnessed Desiree.

YEAH! Excellent!

To the girl who said people were eating long before scientist and gave a farming example, how crude and naive is it for the religious to deny credit to the first humans who discovered botany. There was no god who gave instructions to plant. Always, man has relied and was provided for not by some higher power, but by the power of his own mind! It is his strength and we owe nothing to any alleged god when it comes to the food we eat.

There are flaws in your assumption. We do not discount all the advances that science, in its many fields, have made. What I as a Christian do reject is the theory of evolution. I firmly believe we have a master creator. The best I see science doing with this, is to explain How He did what He did.

Science may "feed" you in its modern food chain, but as for me.......I dig in the dirt, plant a tomatoe seed, a corn seed, a cucumber seed, and a few weeks later, I have tomatoes, corn and cucumber, which provide their own seeds for the next crop. Milk and milk products, meat, fish, poultry are all part of this cycle. People were EATING, Long before there were scientists..........

I can live without a computer, telephone, TV, auto and a great many other things, which are not VITAL to sustaining life, only to making it easier, or more enjoyable.

You have it backwards. It is atheists that bite the hand that feeds them . God's hand ... Christianity spread across the globe in wooden sailing ships my dear Desiree , long before technology flourished in the last century. You need to read your history books. Lets see the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria in 1492? , hardly technological marvels, Or how about the Mayflower in 1620? , yep, wooden ship, no electricity, and chock full of Christians . Faith ? Yes indeed, blind? Not at all.

I have never personally met any Christians (and I've met a few) who instruct their children to reject science and knowledge. I know of no sect within Christianity that teaches you should. Could you please provide a link?

The objective of religion is to blind the one that searches for blindness because the sight of reality shines with such intensity that it becomes unbearable.
In darkness he/she trusts and in darkness he/she will live.

Most christians do believe in these things. Very few sects do not. Specifically Christian Scientology an they aren't christian. Don't let the name fool you.
FYI: Most of us believe in Evolution (Darwins original theory, not the one polluted and changed over time)
Learn what Christianity is before you tell the rest of us please.

"Why do so many Christians bite the hand that feeds them?"

Cos they're easily lead by their parasitic preachers who need them to stay stupid cos if they start to think and question anything the free-loading leech says it could result in smaller numbers to scam.
It's all about the retention of Power and Money in the hands of the blood-sucking pastors, parsons, padres, priests and preachers.

Anonymous: Faith is what your preacher says you must have so that you’ll believe all the other stuff he wants to tell you.
