Depends on the "type" of Judaism. The Orthodox would say "no". However....my sister in law converted. Conversion to Judaism is a serious process. It requires the ability to sever without guilt any link to one's past religion. It requires the steadfast courage to accept Judaism despite the awareness of the role of anti-Semitism in Western history. While every individual's synthesis of Jewish values and practices will be unique, one who elects Judaism must affirm its basic beliefs, must live its traditional patterns, and must identify with the dreams and destiny of the Jewish people.

OK, I'm Jewish so let me give you a definitive answer:

1. Yes, you can convert to Judaism. Anyone can.

2. It does not matter whether or not you have another religion now.

3. Your race does not matter at all.

Having said this, if you are converting only because your fiancee is Jewish then no, **no** rabbi will convert you. You have to absolutely want it for yourself, because you feel an affinity for Judaism.

If you decide you want to convert the first thing you need to figure out is what stream you're going to join--Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, etc. Probably you'll go with what your fiancee is; that makes sense but it doesn't have to be that way. I would suggest taking some introduction to Judaism classes and talking with your fiancee and her rabbi to really give you some background, then go from there. Good luck!

You can convert to Judaism. You don't have to be a Jew by race to be Jewish by faith. Tell your fiancee and he/she could be of help in making the arrangements for your conversion. I know that new converts have to be tutored by a Rabbi.

Yes just go ask a Rabbi, most, the 1st time you ask he will say no, then you ask again, he will say no, the 3rd time you ask he should say yes, its he way of making sure you really want to convert, you do know you will have to learn hebrew.
With your fiancee being from Israel learning hebrew should be a snap.

No you can't convert into a Jew, you have to be born of that lineage, Jew was the name given to those, that was of the lineage of Judah. Its the lineage, that leads to Jesus. This is not a religion, in of it self. They worshiped the same God as Israel did, Later they pulled away to Judaea there own kingdom. Both kingdom was one religion (the worship of God).

No, you are able to convert. issues to contemplate: -- The regulations Jews require of themselves are greater stringent than they planned to be required of alternative countries; a guy or woman who would be seen derelict of non secular responsibilities under Jewish regulation would desire to absolutely be, without substitute in action, an somewhat righteous gentile. -- Jews have suffered typical and in many circumstances severe persecution throughout the a protracted time; a proselyte is exposing himself to doubtlessly mortal possibility. standards for halachic conversion: -- Beit din confirms awareness of Judaism and convert's sincerity -- Circumcision for adult adult males (a drop of blood is taken if already circumcised) -- Immersion in a mikveh

Yes, you can. In fact, the Jewish community generally strongly encourages it when a Jew and non-Jew marry. Jews are very community oriented. You are becoming part of their community and find it most appropriate when you embrace the faith of the community.

Of course one can convert to Judaism.
I know quite a few people who converted via orthodox Judaism (Japanese, phillipino, african-american, white, etc). They lead fulfilled, happy lives and are embraced by the Jewish community.

Yes, of course. It's just the Jews don't send missionaries out to try to convert people. If you come to them, they're fine with it.

Today you are either a believer or an unbeliever in religious terms. Most Jewish people are not believers. They can be if they believe Jesus is the Son of God. Most of Judaism is like islam, Strictlyl old Testament.
