Not really. Depends on the procedure but the commonest procedure done is the mesh rectopexy where we mobilize the rectum, suture a synthetic mesh to the back of it and fix the mesh to the front of the sacrum. This would typically take from 1 to 2 hours if done as open surgery. Longer if done laparoscopically.

Rosco graham`s operation of pelvic floor repair takes 1 hr to 1 1/2hrs .
Safely done under spinal anesthesia for adlts and general anesthesia for kids
