I gave my cat milk, and she threw it up. When she threw it up out comes a 1.5/ 2 inch white flatish worm. It was moving. I am scared that it is a tape worm and I have been looking online and can not find anything helpful. She is going to the vet tomorrow morning but as you can see I am freeting. So any answers please!

Cats are lactose intolerant, plus since she has worms, she's not feeling well to begin with.

Yes, it sounds like a tape worm. (Take the worm to the vet in a zip-lock bag for proper identification.) The vet will give you deworming medicine tomorrow. The cat will feel pretty crappy until the worms are gone, but she should be fine. I'm glad you're taking her to the vet tomorrow morning.

Make sure she has fresh water, and her regular food, but don't give her any more milk or she is likely to throw up again.

I hope she's feeling better soon.

1st thing do not give her milk, cats can not digest it proplery. It gives them cramps, diareah, bloating ect. They love the taste, but it hurts them in the end. It sounds like a tapeworm. It would be best to bring the worm to the vet too in a baggy. That way the vet knows what to deworm her for. Not all dewormers kill all kinds of worms.

okaii its not a tapeworm because it would come out of its anus. ii think its a tiny, parasitic worms that can live in a cat's stomach. These worms cause frequent vomiting, but u say it is big so0o um eek !! yeahh n cats cant rlly drink milk and the worm prob came from the milk and u didnt even know it sue the company

I think its a tape-worm. Bring the worm with you to the vet tomorrow. He/She will know what it is and the proper treatment for the cat...

Many cats are lactose intolerant unless they grow up drinking milk (after being weened)...

you are doing the right thing taking her to the vet, there are many different types of worms and wormers and the vet knows which to use on what worm...take the worm with you to the vet for identification...and this won't cost as bad as you may think...i found worms in 'pringer's poo a couple of years ago and it only cost twelve bucks to de-worm her...one pill did the trick.

That definitely sounds like a tapeworm. My cat had tapeworm at one point, and she had little white crawling things and white rice looking things coming out of her butt. Those were just the egg sacs though...and in them...tons more worms.

Some people say that they cannot live in your house until they find a host, but others say to treat your house as if you were to treat fleas...so do what you think is best.

I hope your kitty is doing okay. Tapeworm will not kill your cat or even hurt her, it's just nasty and bad for their digestive system.

Good luck with taking her to the vet!

sounds like a tapeworm. the vets office most likely will dispense drontal (an all-round dewormer based on weight). And she'll be fine. But don't give her milk- cats become lactose intolerant as they get older, water will do her just fine.

first, milk is not good for cats. it is to hard on their tummy. second, if it look flat , it can be either tape or hook worms. just make sure to wash your hands allot just in case it is tape worms. ppl can get them. third if the cats is trowing them up, she has them bad. you have made the right choice to take her to the vet.

Be careful picking the worm up, many of those same worms can infect humans, too.
