please spay your dog before she ends up with pyometra that requires an emergency spay that she could possibly die from because of infection.

No,unless you get the shot within 48 hours( and there are side effects) she will have to be spayed ,and she is NOT too old to be spayed.By spaying her,you will prevent her from possibly developing a pyometra, which is a fatal infection of the uterus that occurs mostly in older dogs that have not been spayed. The only cure is emergency spay surgery and antibiotics,so why not have her spayed now? Stop the puppies from being born and you won't have to worry about any more heats, accidental matings or litters, infections,or certain cancers.Your dog will most likely live longer ,too.

spay/abortion is your best bet. You're right you know the answer so get it done before she's too far along and the anesthia becomes a risk.
As for the people who are giving you a hard time well, you kinda have to see their point of view, if you're no a serious breeder then she should have been spay at 6 months of age to prevent her current situation, now at her age she has a serious health risk. Good Luck!

I had the same thing happen to me, my dog in heat escaped out the door and ran away with a male dog that was hanging around. I just took her to the vets he gave her a shot and it extended her heat 3 more weeks which wasn't very nice. But I'll tell you we sure got are door fixed, as we had a no breed contract with breeder.

You can have her spayed now and abort the litter that way. If you already know she needs to be spayed, there shouldn't be an issue. Just have it done ASAP and she'll be fine.

You may want to re-word this question. Specify that you are in fact talking about a dog and not a child. LOL!
If this is a dog that got pregnant. The only thing you can do is have her spayed. Good luck!

Yes, there is a shot and spaying your dog now will also act as an abortion. Please spay your dog now to avoid this from happening in the future.

Instead of a shot they can spay her and it would take care of the situation.

yes there is a shot - not sure what it's called- that can be given to abort the puppies. but i think it needs to be given soon after the mating. You'll need to call the vets to make sure that they have the shot.

Not that I'm aware of. The only way I know to abort puppies is a spay procedure.

Yes, there is a Mismate shot available. The sooner it is given the better, so call your vet asap.
