Should I write a letter or send an email through MyAnthem? I do not currently have an agent.

Call the number on the back of your card, and ask them. You probably will have to put it in writing, and you might have to wait until the renewal date.

It's usually not a problem INCREASING the deductible. If you want to lower it, though you WILL have to wait for the renewal date.

If your plan is thru your employer, you may not have a choice in changing your deductible. Employers get that option. You then check with your HR people to find out if they offer other options.

If you purchased the plan yourself, call member services - the number is on your card - and ask them what their procedure is. Sometimes you need to go thru an agent.

You would have to find out when your open enrollment period is. That is typically the only time you can change your policy without special circumstances. You may be able to do that on their website or you can certainly call the customer service number on the back of your card.
