It comes down to whether or not that church is teaching the truth of Gods Word, the Bible. Im not so concerned if I feel all warm and fuzzy or if the church is comfy like a country club. I want truth. Sometimes truth hurts but it always helps. I want to know God and the only way for me to do that is to go to a church where His Word is clearly taught in an accurate and practical way.

Dear Angelica1951,
Before I started studying the Bible and reading it from cover-to-cover what I looked for in a church was different from after I started reading and studying the Bible.
I found the church that I presently belong to after I left the liberal denomination I grew up in. It was very hard to leave the people that I loved but my spirit was thirsting for Substance. I have diabetes and I liken the message I was getting at my previous church to The Cotton Candy Diet. Not good!!!
In my search for a church home I felt that the Orthodox Presbyterian church and the Church of Christ and one Nondenominational church that I visited were all very biblical but I kept searching and praying for God's guidance.
I wouldn't even have found the church I now belong to if my daughter and her husband hadn't taken me out for a Mother's Day dinner a day early in 2005! I had been wondering which church I would attend the following day and as I drove to the restaurant I saw a church sign in front of the YMCA.
I know I'm in the right church for me because my spirit is being fed from God's Word. The icing on the cake for me is the good friends I've made in the church family.
For His glory,
JOYfilled

There is no "right" church for you or anybody! God must draw you to Him. There is no other way. You must be called by God to become a member of His Spiritual body of believers....This is God's True Church! The body of believers who do the Will of the Father in heaven. Not the will of man in institutions.

I am Atheist rather than religious... For me I knew I was on the right track when the anxiety regarding my beliefs resolved.. I felt like everything finally made sense.. I knew what I believed, why I believed it and could track the thought processes that led to the decision..
In talking with my father who is religious he felt much the same when he came to his beliefs..
Each person is different so each person will find their truth in a different place... Be open to looking at ideas and you will find your truth, try not to get too anxious, I learned after arrival that many of the "Ahhh haaa" moments happened along the journey not at the destination if I had been less anxious I would have learned far more at the 'Ahhh haaa" moments than I did...

You got it all wrong, it is not about us. It is about Jesus Christ, and being a part of the church He built and paid for.

When you find yourself participating fully and actively in the Catholic church ... which is the only church that Jesus Christ ever founded, authorized, empowered, and eternally guaranteed.
