I'm very afraid they would not include such freedom. It would be addressed, and there would be some choices, but religion I'm guessing would be integrated into the document.
I don't see it happening. There are still too many people, thankfully, unwilling to give up their sovereignty. It's a dangerous thing. The U.S. Constitution gives the people the right to discard the current government and replace it, by force if necessary. Most Americans don't know that. But with a continent-wide union that would be far more difficult to accomplish. Such a power would not be included.
The U.S. Constitution was NOT drafted with Christian "values". In fact most of the framers were what we then called deists. You will not find the word God or Jesus anywhere in the Constitution. Nor is a specific God in the Declaration. That is a falsehood promoted by Christians to strengthen their position.
It's entirely probable that no bill of rights would be included. Only one remains unbroken. In 1936 resulting from the new deal and the tactics of the day's politicians the Constitution was "re-written" by changing the interpretation of certain clauses, upheld by the Supreme Court. A citizen has no rights. That's how the laws have been manipulated. So a new document, if penned by those similar to the ones in power today, would have no rights for the people.
It's not necessary.

Since this is in the religion section I will use a little religious philosophy to answer.
The constitution was written with base Christian values in mind. It was drawn up by (for the most part) Christians and or those who believed in the freedoms that the constitution was written for. There is a HUGE sect of people that would not let the constitution be defiled (completely rewritten) and it would lead to a civil war. There is little chance of the NAU becoming a reality without much bloodshed and contention.
I don't believe that we have done a good job of the modifications that we have made to our bill of rights as they almost always have a deeper undercurrent of greed attached to them. I doubt that they could make a "new" constitution that would benefit everyone. It would just be an even bigger legal mess than what we have now and it would end up severely limiting the freedoms that we already have.

Unlike a European Union, which made sense, I do not EVER see a North American Union between USA, Canada, and Mexico. Look at the problems just sorting out the Quebec issue had on Canada--French vs English parts--. It would require an act of Congress, signed by President, and ratified by 38 states (2/3 majority) to change our Constitution--I CANNOT see that particular proposal EVER passing.

That Will Never Happen.
Canadians are perfectly happy to not be Americans, and are the US's greatest ally. The US could annex Mexico, I guess, if it became clear things would never improve there.
But as it stands I wouldn't be surprised if the US either breaks up into smaller pieces or all the states get greater autonomy than they have now in the next hundred years. Hell, there are enough secessionist movements in the US right now. One such party actually got a GOVERNOR elected in Alaska in the 90s.
Unless the US cleans up its act Canada would never go for it, and unless Mexico cleans up its act, the US would never go for it. So it ain't gonna happen.

that's a disaster waiting to ensue. Mexico is the sole between the three international places that stands to income something significant by utilising it, and the U.S. stands to lose plenty. sensible issues do not rely, nonetheless, by using fact it quite is not approximately what's real for you and me. it quite is all approximately what's ultimate for potential-hungry politicians. evaluate this: the american persons are greater often than not against it, jointly as the management of the two the Republican social gathering and the Democratic social gathering is keen approximately it. are not they meant to be representing us? They have not been representing absolutely everyone yet themselves in an rather long term. Ron Paul is the sole presidential candidate from the two of the main important events that has the two the backing and the integrity to place something of the republocrats of their places. I doubt he will win the nomination, not to show the presidency, yet i'm hoping he receives the two. otherwise, the united statesA. is already ineffective, and the republocrats are in basic terms worms feeding of its corpse. -yk

Yes, they will keep open the freedom of religion. Just not the freedom of the press, the freedom of speech, the freedom to assemble, the freedom to bear arms, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, habeas corpus, posse comitatus, or a currency based on gold and silver coin.

I have no desire for a North American Union. If it did happen though unless they accepted the American constitution completely there would be trouble.
