I tried to upgrade from Flash to Shockwave and now my computer has Shockwave (which works great) and thinks it still has Flash (which is un-add/removable)

they are different so you need both. Shockwave is basically just for games on shockwave.com, adobe works with tons of different places

shockwave and flash are the same thing, BUT shockwave is no longer the company that holds the rights to flash, now adobe owns it. If your flash interpretor is shockwave then you need to upgrade.

what is the difference between apples and oranges, why use a mac when you have a pc

why use microsoft word when you can use google docs. its all a matter of the flash designer, what ever program he used and why he specifically used that particular one.
